I picked this game up and let me tell you that it rocks. The new aiming system kicks all sorts of ass and there are a bunch of other changes also.

Eating is not that big of a pain in the ass and working out takes no time at all. No longer is there a 100 for life and armor. Right now I just have a life bar. I am not sure what happens when you get armor though.

So far the game is sweet as I cruise around causing mad thug damage. Although I find myself having to re-adjust to the driving as they redid the physics for cars.

One new set of missions that I like are the pimping missions. THATS RIGHT. Pimping missions. Just grab yourself a pimp car and click in r3 to activate. Go around dropping off hoes and then coming back to them to pick up the cash. Its pretty cool.

The radio is kickin' as always. I mainly am listening to Radio X(rock). I wish it was strictly alternative though...but at the same time I do get to listen to "Welcome to the Jungle" as well as other songs by Stone Temple Pilots and Jane's Addiction. I also like the Rap stations because it was when it didn't completely suck. I actually like it. I have not really had a chance to listen to talk radio yet.

Overall the game is a VAST improvement and now you can swim...SAY WHAT??!?! Thats right. When you fall in the water it isn't over. Just swim to shore!

Later homies. I gotta bounce.

I've never really been drawn to the GTA games, but I read this (http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3135759) last night and was pretty impressed with the incredible amount of effort that went into the details of San Andreas. So, I may try it out sometime.

When GTA 3 first came out I tried it and really didn't like it either but since it was every place I was able to keep giving it a second shot...more like a 10th shot and I was eventually able to look past the short falls here and there.

I can't wait till I get farther in this game and play some B-Ball.

I picked it up today too. It is pretty damn fun. The first thing I noticed is it is A LOT more mature. As in mature acts and all. I've heard the F word so many times it's just funny now. I just go to the part where you gotta buy some clothes. Working out is easy.

Right now I am helping one of the homies with his mad rythms. I love how they say homies...really takes me back

I love how it is turf war and they keep it real small like that in the beginning.

What is really amazes me is that I am in the first city...and it's huge. Then I think that there are TWO MORE FREAKING CITIES AND A BIG COUNTRYSIDE TO EXPLORE. This game is great....yo.

Luckily I've pre-ordered it (As I have a feeling it will get banned) and I'm picking it up on Friday afternoon with my new PS2.

In the mean time, I do not want to see anymore pictures. I'm getting sick of them! >=)

I wanna get this game so bad, but my birthdays is next month...can't wait any longer...oh well, I still get to blow stuff up in GTA III and GTAVC

which I find are the best until now...but still the overhead views from the earlier ones were friggin fun as all heck. lol.

I've been a fan of this series ever since the original (I own all 5 that are out here, and the GB version, and I bought London, Gta2 and Vice City on the day they came out and I intend to do the same for SA)

I seriously freaking want San Andreas, but I have to wait until Friday. I just love all the little touches they've put in - random police chases, customisable hair, break-ins, pool, swimming and diving, etc. I don't think I've ever wanted a game this badly. I should've joined a GTA forum instead of an FF one, on reflection.

I heard you have to work out in this game. I can imagine a bunch of skinny/fatso people are like "yeah i gotta work out today". :p I also heard its bigger then ever, Im buy this game. :D

I just got into the part of the game where you literally go around and snatch up turf. Its so cool. Your turf can come under attack and you have to go protect it. With such a huge city extending my turf takes a while. My thugonmics kick ass.

First I want Vice City and then San Andreas. San Andreas will also be a best-sell. And best-sellers are cheaper and I want to be good with my money. :D

A friend of mine got it yesterday and brought it over. HOLY SHEITE! The thing is HUGE. at least 100x bigger than vice city. Graphics were tuned down a bit and the reason the driving physics are changed is because part of your stats is driving. Keep driving well and the physics will get better. IMO way too much stat building in this game. San Andreas is alot better than Vicecity in every way. Just get it...realy...

Oh, never mind. The conversation with my mother went like this:

Me: *laying down on the couch* I really want to get GTA: San Andreas.
Her: Oh, really?
Me: Yeah. I need to start saving some money to get it.
Her: How much is it?
Me: 50 dollars, I'm sure. I've gotta stop from eating lunch and save that money.
Her: I'm sure if you did a little bit more work around here, then maybe I would get it for you...
Me: Yes, but what work is there to DO?
Her: Oh, you could clean out your backpack. That would be a start.
Me: *runs and cleans out my backpack* I love you, mom.

Politicians will really think they were over-reacting on GTA3 now! The fighting is insanly better. You now actually feel like your hitting someone and the targeting is top notch. I actually like the stats, eating and gym. The BMX bike is so awsome. I spent about an hour just cruisin the first city on my bike so now I have alot of cycleing skill. I also played a game of pool in the bar and won $200. Way to much fun!! Swimming is very easy to do, Its like Mario 64.
Some graphical problems but that may be because I have the first line of PS2? Soundtrack is nice! I hate rap but for some reason I dont mind listening to it in this game.

My only complaint is the radar map onscreen needed to be tweaked or something. Its really hard for me on my 27" tv to see the dots for places I need to go.

Get the damn game ASAP!!!!!!! And kids turn the volume down :smash:

When you guys get to the point where you can explore a mountain, go to the top with a motorcycle and jump off the mountain(There is a small ramp at the peak). It is quite a rush.

I don't know but a pretty good sized plane fell on me and killed me in a huge explosion. I guess it hit a building. It really came out of no where and I wasn't really sure what happened.

Planes fall out of the sky quite a lot, so I've heard. I've only heard of small planes like the Dodo and biplanes doing it, though.

See, if you would have joined a GTA forum, you would've scratched your ass all day and wait for the next GTA game. While at a FF forum, you get to be a loser and a nerd, and have interests in technical studies like computer programming, math, and physics.

I got it yesterday afternoon with my Mini PS2. And when you place the mini PS2 next to the normal one, it makes the normal one look like a beast. xP

Anyway, I bought the game and opened it at my friends party. We all had a go. At first we thought it wasn't to good as we didn't know how to ride a BMX (Tapping X button) but the third person finally did it. :p

It's an OK game, not what I expected but it is good. I'm stuck on this bike chase mission and I can't do it. xD But I've completed all the mission that the first two members set out and I'm currently doing the third guy's set of missions.

Anyway, do you have to do the street racing to advance in this game?

You people hear the rumours of big foot? Apparently our favourite satsquatch (I probably spelt that wrong :)) is running around the wilderness.

Also there's the story of the ghost car, which I myself have seen. It's pretty cool.

I spent all of yesterday spawning trasmasters, climbing into them and hoping sections of fence that arent barbed wired to break into the south esatern airport to steal the passenger jet. Yeah thats right, you get to fly jet aircraft! Then I flew into restricted airspace and got into dogfights with Jet Fighters! I hope you can get a jet fighter in the game.

So far the aircraft I have seen are..

1) Single propeler plane (This thing stalls if you climb too fast (starter town)
2) Small single engine jet (Handles like a dream, use tail to turn, not wings or you will most likely loose control (Starter town))
3) Good sized double engine jet (I have not gotten the chance to fly it yet, the doors are lcocked (Easter Bay))
4) Military transport helicopter (Probably not alot of firepower, thiso ne is locked too (Easter Bay))
5) An orange helicopter (Yeah, locked too, looks realy boss though. (Easter Bay))

I'm sure there are even better aircraft with better weapons, if anyone knows that would be a cool thing to post.

Doomgaze
11-06-2004, 11:03 PM
Actually, once you get your pilot license, go to Las Venturas airport. There's a mission marker for a race - one of them uses the Harrier, and you can just ignore missions and play with it. Dog fighting the other Harriers is pretty cool, but it has no regular guns, unfortunately, just missiles. You can lock on with them though. As far as I know you can't do vigilante missions in it.

Other planes I can think of:

An old WW2 fighter (Rustler, I think)
Stunt Plane (biplane)
Cessna (Dodo)
Lear Jet
Seaplane
Old Two Propeller Passenger Plane, like what Indiana Jones flew around in when the red line was shuttling him around (Nevada)
Hugeass 737-looking jetliner.

Psychotic
11-06-2004, 11:06 PM
Just for the record, the harrier is called the Hydra in the game, and the seaplane is the Skimmer (I thought the stunt plane was called the Crop-Duster but I'm probably wrong) but yeah, good list Doom, I can't think of any not on there.

Still, I prefer helicopters to planes, they're much easier to fly.

Doomgaze
11-06-2004, 11:30 PM
Which is why the Harrier's ability to hover makes it that much better :)

I'm stuck on a mission in Las Venturas The one were you have to steal cop motorcycles for your escort. I've tried it 5 times and I keep messing up on the 4th location.

So I tried that Beat the Cock triathalon race. That stuff is pretty hard too. I finished in 8th place on the one that ends in Las Venturas, and finished 2nd on the other one.

Psychotic
11-08-2004, 05:30 PM
Ah, that mission. That took me a couple of tries too, it's a pain.

But what I like about this game is the little details. Like in Zero's RC shop you can see Vice City and Manhunt figures. Or in 24/7's you can see Cherry Poppers Ice Cream (You owned the factory in Vice City) and Bitch 'n' Dog food (You did missions for the guy that owned it in GTA 3 - Marty Chonks. Not many people notice him, but his missions are set at a payphone near to Joey's garage in Trenton but the phone only rings at certain times, I think it's 6 AM to 8 PM or something.)

Although cycling off the top of the tallest building in Los Santos and jumping off the bike and parachuting the way down has its attractions too :p

Is anyone having problems working out? I have max stamina and max muscle and I can't use the gym anymore. Everytime I go there it says I've done enough for today, eventhough I haven't done ANYTHING. I know I can lose fat just by running around or riding bikes, but it's easier to just ride the bike in there.

M4tt, I've heard of several people with the gym glitch thing, but apparently if you change your clothes it will let you in, but I'm not entirely sure as I've never had the glitch.

Although now I've taken to hurling CJ off high places, usually into water, just because of the awesome whoosh sound and the nice blurring effect you get. It's great. :D

m4tt
11-08-2004, 10:35 PM
I browse the gamefaq forums while at work and I remember someone saying something about a gym glitch, but I couldn't find the topic (that place is so messy). I'll try changing my clothes.. since I've been in jeans and a black tank top since left San Fierro. :p

I like jumping off bridges with CJ, I like it when he says stuff like "Oh hell nah!" or something like that as he falls towards the water.

At least you can de-rail them by putting the speed over 57 or so (The speed is shown on the Train R3 missions, it isn't otherwise) and believe me, they go flying :D
