Well Ribbon obviously. It'll cancel everything except Earth and Lightning Elemental Magic. Both Rubber Suit and Rubber Boots block Lightning.

Are you sure that absorption isn't allowable? Earth Clothes is the only armor/accessory I can find that deals with Earth Magic, so I'll go with:

Earth Clothes
Ribbon
Rubber Boots

Yeah, no absorption. :scary: When I was brainstorming this question I was originally thinking "What combo will protect you from the most status effects and spells without reflecting them?" Simple, but there were 3 different combos. So, I had to get more specific and decided to eliminate absorbing the spell as well. That takes it to just one combo. ;) You're very close, but there is another item you can use to make a character immune to Earth magic. :D

BG-57
01-14-2005, 12:15 PM
D'oh!

I think I get it! Equipping Feather Boots would make you immune to Earth spells! You'd float right over the attacks.

Equip:

Ribbon
Rubber Suit
Feather Boots

Despotus
01-15-2005, 06:11 AM
Yeeeeessss!! :D
That is the correct combo, BG-57. Sorry it took me so long to post a reply, I had waaay too much fun last night. Anyway, it's your shot bro'!

BG-57
01-15-2005, 02:00 PM
That question required some lateral thinking. Well done Despotus! :)

Question: Name two battles that have names that are anagrams of other words. Include the original words.

RedCydranth
01-15-2005, 07:27 PM
MLAPAN =NAPALM
NOGIAS =SAIGON

2 of the deep dungeon Levels.

BG-57
01-16-2005, 07:22 AM
Correct!

Your turn RedCydranth. :)

RedCydranth
01-16-2005, 08:39 PM
Which of Rafa's Truth skills causes status effects?

BG-57
01-17-2005, 12:34 AM
Space Storage.

Question: What's the first battle in which you can get an item by Move-Find that cannot ever be purchased in shops?

Despotus
01-17-2005, 03:29 AM
I think it's Bervennia Volcano where you'll find Cloud's Materia Blade... but that's just a guess. :fpindesc:

RedCydranth
01-17-2005, 09:23 AM
Germinas Peak's Vanish Mantle is my guess.

BG-57
01-17-2005, 02:15 PM
RedCydranth, Germinas Peak was what I was thinking of, but I think you have a point, Despotus. If memory serves, Bervennia Volcano appears on the map first in chapter 4, and you could technically go there before Germinas Peak, but you won't need to as part of the plot until after you get a certain character who drops hints about it.

Despotus
01-17-2005, 02:19 PM
Yeah, the Volcano appears just after you finish the Riovannes Castle battles. I've been there in my current game, but G. Peak hasn't appeared yet... so should I ask one?

BG-57
01-17-2005, 02:24 PM
Unfortunately, my question was too vague. :( You're both correct, and you answered first. So go ahead.

Despotus
01-17-2005, 02:34 PM
Thinking chronologically, who is the first character that dies in a scene or battle that actually plays out on screen? (To explain further, St. Ajora's execution doesn't count because we didn't see it.) ;)

BG-57
01-17-2005, 02:36 PM
Do flashbacks count?

Despotus
01-17-2005, 02:46 PM
Oh yes.

BG-57
01-17-2005, 04:29 PM
Balbanes?

feioncastor
01-17-2005, 08:53 PM
You said in a battle or a scene. The first death would be whoever those in the battle outside of Orbonne. Gafgarion orders Ramza and Rad to kill them all, and Agrias is more for the holding back approach.

Feion

Azure Chrysanthemum
01-17-2005, 09:02 PM
But you don't know if those guys die in the first scene, especially since they have stars above their bodies when they are defeated. I'd go with the fight directly after that.

Despotus
01-17-2005, 11:48 PM
Balbanes?

Dies in a flashback within the ch. 1 flashback. His is the first death, chronologically. BG-57?

BG-57
01-18-2005, 02:34 AM
You won't find this in any guide. :greenie:

Question: How many life crystals have to appear in a level of Deep Dungeon before their collective glow maximally illuminates that level? :save:

feioncastor
01-18-2005, 04:44 AM
Four

RedCydranth
01-18-2005, 05:04 AM
You said in a battle or a scene. The first death would be whoever those in the battle outside of Orbonne. Gafgarion orders Ramza and Rad to kill them all, and Agrias is more for the holding back approach.

Feion

He said chronologically, so technically since orbonne fight happens AFTER chapter one in cronological order, you are incorrect. Also they did have stars.

Oops, I didnt see the last two posts. And the answer I believe is four. GJ.

Despotus
01-18-2005, 07:44 AM
Yep, it's four crystals. Your turn, Feion.

BG-57
01-19-2005, 03:25 AM
:save: :save: :save: :save: ;)

feioncastor
01-19-2005, 09:03 PM
Which Lucavi does Ramza and his crew personally kill?

BG-57
01-19-2005, 11:15 PM
Queklain, Velius, Zalera, Adramelk, Altima, Serpentarius (almost forgot him!).

Not Hashmalum, though. He opts for hari-kiri.

I don't think any other Lucavi make an appearance, unless I'm mistaken. Of course not all the stones are used to possess characters.

Despotus
01-21-2005, 04:05 AM
I don't know what to think about Altima's death. If I remember correctly, she (it?) is more or less defeated by Ramza and Co. but then she/it comes back and destroys herself, along with the airship and Ramza's crew...right? So she kinda sorta blows herself up in a last act of destructive malice. :radred: :skull:
I definitely agree that Hashmalum sacrificed himself to resurrect Ajora. He was standing and talking just fine just before he ripped himself apart. :whoa:
And I believe Ramza's Renegades personally, directly, and fully execute, destroy, and slaughter the other 5 (Queklain, Velius, Zalera, Adramelk, and Serpentarius). :chop:

Azure Chrysanthemum
01-21-2005, 05:57 AM
Ah, but you don't HAVE to kill Serpentarius :D

feioncastor
01-23-2005, 06:15 PM
BG-57 got it.

Sorry it took me so long to respond.

BG-57
01-23-2005, 10:08 PM
Name a monster that has:

1) One eye.

2) Two eyes.

3) Six eyes.

4) Seven eyes or more.

Obviously, I'm looking for four different answers here. Any monster that matches is fine. :)

RedCydranth
01-24-2005, 03:48 AM
One Eye - Ahriman
2 Eyes - Uribo
6 Eyes - Hyudra
8 Eyes - Morbol

What is the only place the Taiju naturally appears?

Despotus
01-24-2005, 03:48 AM
One eye: Flotiball, Ariman, Plague
Two eyes: take your pick, but I'll go with Goblin, Black Goblin, Gobbledeguck
Six eyes: Hydra, Hyudra, Tiamat
Seven or more: Morbol, Ochu, Great Morbol
I think these are right, but confirmation would be great. ;)

Hahahaha a tie! I shouldn't have put down all the names and just done one for each! :D

Anyway, I'll take a stab at Red Cydranth's question.
Well, I am sure that they appear in the Deep Dungeon.. so let's try starting each battle to see which enemies appear.
*searching...searching...searching...searching...success!* :D
On Mlapan I found a battle with 6 Woodmen, 2 Trents, and a Taiju! So it must be Mlapan. ;)

Question: Besides those who say, "Damn", which I don't consider to be a curse word, who is the only character to swear in the game? Be careful when answering so that you don't get censored like this: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull:

BudSoda02
01-24-2005, 05:42 PM
I think it's Dycedrag when you defeat him in his Holy Brave form... I'm not 100% sure...
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com

Despotus
01-25-2005, 03:13 AM
I think it's Dycedrag when you defeat him in his Holy Brave form... I'm not 100% sure...

Yes, BudSoda, that is correct. Adramelk (Dycedarg's Braves form) exclaims the s-word when he is defeated! :frust:

feioncastor
01-30-2005, 03:05 PM
What's the hold up?

Hehehehehe.

Despotus
01-31-2005, 04:42 AM
Sheesh, It's been a week already! BudSoda, you better be thinking of a really tough question or something! :p You can ask one, whenever you come back, ok? ;) In the meantime...
Question:
What are 3 ways to get a "Save the Queen" sword? (No item duplicating cheat allowed :nonono: )
Edit: There are more than 3 ways, if you want to name them all... go ahead. But 3 will suffice. :)

RedCydranth
01-31-2005, 03:22 PM
1. Deep Dungeon TERMINATE Move-Find-Item
2. Steal from Rofel in the Book Storage
3. Meliadoul owns one

Which is the only Ninja Sword with evasion above 10%?

BG-57
01-31-2005, 11:10 PM
Sasuke Knife has an evade of 15%.

Question: What is particularly odd about the descriptions of the Genji Helmet and Genji Armor that is not the case with the Genji Shield and Genji Armlet?

Despotus
02-01-2005, 03:54 AM
The colors given in the description are wrong. The G. Armor, G. Helmet, and G. Shield are all described as being 'Black', while only the Shield really is black. The G. Gauntlet's color is described correctly as 'Crimson', which I think would better describe the Armor and Helmet as well. Well...maybe the Helmet should be Crimson and White... :p
Is that what you were thinking, BG?

BG-57
02-01-2005, 12:16 PM
You got it! :)

BudSoda02
02-01-2005, 05:59 PM
Sorry for the delay I was on vacation & had no access to a computer/net. :( Let's see If I recall correctly. Who is the 13th Zodaic brave/ who posseses the 13th Zodiac stone. Hint: It's in Deep Dungeon. Bonus Question: What's the name of that level/place? Does this satisfy you?
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com

BG-57
02-01-2005, 07:28 PM
Serpentarius is the 13th Zodiac Brave.

Elidibs is the proud owner of the Serpentarius stone. He's a legendary wizard from the 50 year war.

END is, appropriately enough, the final level of deep dungeon where you get to meet these guys.

Despotus
02-02-2005, 08:43 AM
I believe that's right, BG-57. You go ahead and ask the next one. I'm going to take a pass for now...uggh...can't..think.. :Oo:

BG-57
02-02-2005, 12:20 PM
I'm scrounging for questions as well. :greenie:

Question: What does Gafgarion or Orlandu occasionally say when they use the skill Night Sword?

feioncastor
02-02-2005, 06:23 PM
Night Sword

BG-57
02-02-2005, 11:45 PM
I mean the phrase they sometimes say out loud in a word balloon when using Night Sword.

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-03-2005, 08:20 AM
Isn't it something to the effect of "Master of swords, cut energy, Night Sword!"?

BG-57
02-03-2005, 12:25 PM
You are correct. :)

Ask away.

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-03-2005, 05:05 PM
What jobs can use Axes without the "Equip Axe" ability?

Black Chocobo
02-03-2005, 05:33 PM
Geomancer's and Squires

That would be my guess

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-04-2005, 04:20 AM
Correct. You're up.

Black Chocobo
02-04-2005, 04:17 PM
What is the name of the temple where you fight "Worker 7"?

BudSoda02
02-04-2005, 05:46 PM
It's Nelveska Temple right? It's on an island just outside of the Ivalice mainland.
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com

Black Chocobo
02-04-2005, 06:08 PM
You are correct sir!

You ask the next question

(By the way- I am new to this Fora)

BG-57
02-04-2005, 11:10 PM
Welcome aboard! :) Hopefully you will find the experience rewarding.

Black Chocobo
02-05-2005, 01:00 AM
Thank you. Hopefully people will start asking more questions...

It looks like this is getting a little slower

RedCydranth
02-06-2005, 02:46 AM
Since no one is asking, I'll go ahead. BudSoda, when you get back the question is yours.

The Summon, Golem, absorbs damage from all weapons except which?

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-06-2005, 04:18 AM
My guess would be weapons that have an element.

feioncastor
02-06-2005, 04:53 AM
Yeah, weapons like Glacier gun and stuff.

RedCydranth
02-06-2005, 05:54 PM
The elemental guns. Correct.

feioncastor
02-06-2005, 06:42 PM
So BTV or me next?

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-06-2005, 11:08 PM
Go ahead Feion, I guessed all elemental weapons while you were more specific.

Black Chocobo
02-06-2005, 11:38 PM
I'm ready for the next question.

BudSoda02
02-08-2005, 06:00 PM
Who were the two characters thought dead by the church & had fakes who look like them to take their place; so that they could be freed from the church? Hint: One happens at the end of the game.
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com

feioncastor
02-08-2005, 06:26 PM
One of them was Cidofolas Orlandu, and the other was.... I don't know....

BG-57
02-09-2005, 02:26 AM
I remember the one involving Cid. Wasn't there an execution of a fake Ovelia? Or am I confusing FFT with the plot of Suikoden II? :D

feioncastor
02-10-2005, 03:52 PM
I remember the one involving Cid. Wasn't there an execution of a fake Ovelia? Or am I confusing FFT with the plot of Suikoden II? :D
The fake Ovelia execution at Golgorand Execution Site was to lure Agrias and Ramza into a trap, where Gafgarion awaited them, disguised as the executioner (I'm sure this isn't what you were referring to). I don't believe that anyone was ever actually killed and made to look as though it was Ovelia that died.

But I know Thunder God Cidofolas Orlandu had a look alike killed so that someone would think he was dead.... Who was that someone, by the way, cause I really can't remember off the top of my head....

Feion

BudSoda02
02-10-2005, 05:58 PM
You're right BG-57 & no, you didn't confuse the plot with Suikoden III. The only one people remember was about a fifth of the way through the game which Gafarion set a trap for Ramza. Delita had helped the Ovelia escape from that corrupt Priest who turned into a Zodiac Brave Monster & he's also the same Priest who hired Bart Company to kill Mustadio's Dad. Remember. I know this plot's very twisted. (People say VII & VIII are, but they forget Tactics!) So you're up BG-57. I don't know who the Fake Cid was Feion, they (the party) gave him a blessing & said his death wouldn't be a waste. I'm guessing it was one of Cid's most trusted soldiers...
Thanks- BudSoda02 BudSoda02@yahoo.com

BG-57
02-10-2005, 09:52 PM
Grevados, a Glabados priest and advisor to Goltana was the fall guy and Cid's stand-in.

Question: The families of which we meet several members in Tactics (Boeuvle, Hyral, Folles, Gatnana, Bunanza, and Tingel) always lack the same relative. Who always gets left out?

feioncastor
02-11-2005, 06:05 PM
The Mommy

BG-57
02-11-2005, 07:32 PM
Correct! :)

Even when Balbanes lies on his deathbed, neither the mother of Zalbag and Dycedarg, nor of Ramza or Alma are present. Granted, he may have been a widower twice, but isn't the lack of mothers in any of these families a little preposterous? :rolleyes2

feioncastor
02-12-2005, 05:38 AM
Of all the characters in the game, which is most likely to bore you to sleep?

that's kind of an obscure question. If no one figures it out, I'll ask a different one.

Professor Daravon!

Question: What effect does the 'oil' status have?

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-12-2005, 08:14 AM
Fire does double damage.

What attack can inflict either death, petrification, or stop, usually with 100% efficacy?

DocFrance
02-12-2005, 03:09 PM
You're wrong, BtV ;)

BG-57
02-12-2005, 04:02 PM
It makes you weak to Fire elemental damage.

Apanda's Bio would do that I think.

DocFrance
02-12-2005, 06:22 PM
Nope, you're still wrong, BG-57.

mike without a hat
02-12-2005, 08:14 PM
I think it makes fire elemental damage do double (against you) but just for one attack. And it might come from one of the ghouls attacks, but im not sure.

BG-57
02-12-2005, 08:16 PM
I looked it up in the in-game tutorial. Does it have it wrong?

Grease Touch causes the Oil status, among others.

BTW, the Bio thing is my answer to Behold the Void's question.

DocFrance
02-12-2005, 09:11 PM
Hehe, it's a trick question, acutally. Due to a programming error, the oil status actually has no effect at all, despite what its description says.

Despotus
02-13-2005, 11:54 PM
Behold the Void, are you referring to that petrifying attack that the Vampire fires out of its tail?

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-14-2005, 04:10 AM
Actually, no, I am not, on either of those, but my question is probably invalidated because the little trick question thing by the sneaky doctor. If you want to keep guessing though, go ahead.

BG-57
02-14-2005, 07:14 PM
You mean 'Blaster', Despotus?

Is it Cloud's Limit 'Finishing Touch'?

feioncastor
02-14-2005, 07:19 PM
Or perhaps the Malboro's Breath attack.

Despotus
02-14-2005, 11:37 PM
You mean 'Blaster', Despotus?
Yeah, that's it. But I don't think it can cause 'Death'.
Maybe it's one of Altima's (Ajora's) attacks? I'll have to go play that battle today to check it out...

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-15-2005, 12:47 AM
Cloud's Limit Break Finish Touch is correct.

BG-57
02-15-2005, 03:06 AM
I'll ask a question anyway since there are no others to answer.

Question: What combination of weapon, armor, helmet, shield and accessory will make a certain character who already looks out of place look even more out of place? There is only one combination. Naming the character is optional.

Despotus
02-15-2005, 11:53 PM
Cloud's Materia Blade is a "foreign" sword, and the Genji Helmet, Armor, Shield and Gauntlet are all "foreign" as well. I guess wearing all of those would make Cloud look even more out of place. :joker:

BG-57
02-16-2005, 01:25 AM
He sure would. You're up. :)

Despotus
02-16-2005, 07:59 AM
Who are the oldest and the youngest human characters in the game?
Two names...
(No Zodiac Braves or Ajora ;) )

Black Chocobo
02-16-2005, 04:28 PM
Oldest- The monk who holds the book....Alazlam
Youngest- Teta

feioncastor
02-16-2005, 07:30 PM
Orinas is younger than Teta, so there.

Funeral is older than Alazlam, unless you don't count him cause he dies.

Feion

mike without a hat
02-16-2005, 08:23 PM
Timeline wise, wouldnt Alazlam be the youngest?(isnt he telling the story and he's way in the future from when the game took place?)
If not then Orinas(age 9).
Oldest would be Funeral(not sure but deff. looks the oldest), or if because he dies then Orlandu(age 64).

Despotus
02-17-2005, 03:51 AM
Orinas is younger than Teta, so there.

Funeral is older than Alazlam, unless you don't count him cause he dies.

That's who I was thinking of. Orinas is just a baby at the start of the game and Funeral is wickedly ancient. I also think Simon is quite old but not as old as Funeral. Your go, Feion. :p

What is the fake last name that Ramza takes on in chapter II to hide the fact that he is a Beoulve?

Feion

BG-57
02-18-2005, 03:37 AM
Ruglia. He kept his first name though. I guess Ramza's a fairly common name.

Question: Name two lands that lie beyond the borders of Ivalice.

darkblade117
02-22-2005, 01:20 AM
ordalia is one.... i don't know the other... wait! there's only one isn't there??!

BG-57
02-22-2005, 04:06 AM
There are seven countries in Ivalice. Anything that isn't one of the seven must lie outside the borders. Two are visible, and Ordalia is one of them. You're halfway there. :greenie:

Look across the water.

feioncastor

darkblade117
02-23-2005, 05:26 AM
but... but... i thought that was an ivalician...(is that even right?) province... grr... gotta get back fft.... sooo rusty....by the way... i'm uhm... errol... but you can call me darkblade117... i'm new here... obviously... but not in the fft world... been playing since it came out... i stopped cuz my bro told me to trade in my playstation and games for halo 2.... ooops.... i shouldn't be doing this here... :D

BG-57
02-23-2005, 01:31 PM
You are correct Feion! Ask away. :)

Welcome to the forums Darkblade117. Hope you find them enjoyable.

To answer your question: the game mentions that Ivalice is made up of seven regions: Fovoham, Lesalia, Lionel, Galionne, Murond, Limberry and Zeltennia. Two other land masses are visible on the map: Ordalia and Romanda. We know very little about either of them. Since the Lion War is essentially a civil war, neither country plays a significant role.

I was about to ask a question about the provinces of Ivalice, but I guess not now.

BG, you go ahead and ask. You answered my question before I even asked it. I was gonna ask what the 7 regions of Ivalice were.

BG-57

Oops, my bad!

Question: Where in the game do you see a 'battlefield' that looks like a giant staircase with a pillar to the right connected by a thin bridge, all composed out of checkerboard tiles of two alternating, constrasting colors? Note the quotation marks.

darkblade117
02-24-2005, 12:35 AM
i could be wrong but i think it's Poeskas Lake... there's a pillar there... and uhm... i guess the place looks checkerboard like... i dunno... or is it murond death city?... no wait! it's under... uhm... orbonne monastery... i can't remember

I'm not sure how to clarify the question without giving it away. Hmmm...let me put it this way: This is not a battlefield in the conventional sense, like say Mandalia Plains or Bethla Garrison.

mike without a hat
02-24-2005, 08:34 PM
I think i know what you're talking about, but i dont know what its called.
Do you fight a zodiac monster guy there?

BG-57
02-24-2005, 09:08 PM
No Zodiac monsters in this one. The only characters you see are two oracles, a white mage, a floating squire, and two knights.

darkblade117
02-25-2005, 04:51 AM
that's helpful... ... a floating squire... i don't remember any floating squire... the only enemy i remember floating was that one knight that was hidden in the moat during the battle at the gate of riovanes castle before the battle against weigraf

02-25-2005, 02:21 PM
Well, Yuguo Woods and Poeskas Lake also has floating (and undead) enemy units, but not squires.

I may have asked a question that's too hard. :sweatdrop

How about this? Your party isn't involved in this 'battle', nor do you control any of the units that appear on the screen. So where in the game can you witness 'battles' without participating?

Azure Chrysanthemum
02-25-2005, 04:52 PM
You can do that in Tactics

Crap, I have this major feeling that I'm overlooking something big that will make me feel like a complete moron when you do tell us.

RedCydranth
02-25-2005, 06:41 PM
Is it in the tutorial battle? In the tutorial menu? Alazam teaches you more advanced tactics on battling.

Like I said, I lost my copy of FFT a while back and haven't played in a while so this is all from memory.

BG-57
02-25-2005, 06:51 PM
You are correct! :D

Specifically it's the 'battle' Daravan uses to explain status ailments.

You're up, RedCydranth.

I'll ask another question while we wait. Don't worry, it's easy. ;)

Question: Generally there are items that only female units can equip(bags, ribbons and perfumes). Name the only exception to this rule.

Bonus Points: The exception is clearly an in-joke. What is it?

Azure Chrysanthemum
03-05-2005, 07:28 PM
Cloud can equip some female items, possibly due to the days he spent as a crossdresser in FFVII

BG-57

Correct and Correct! Specifically Ribbons. Pity he can't equip Perfumes as well. :)

BG-57

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question here. We are talking about the Mighty Sword skill set that that both Meliadoul and T.G. Cid share, right?

RedCydranth
03-07-2005, 02:52 AM
Sorry guys... I went into the hospital (no worries, I'm OK)

Not even close to crystalizaion yet!

I've been skipped, its cool, I'd do the same after someone was presumed treasure chested.

My guess, like I said numerous times, i haven't played cuz i cant find my copy, is Helmet.

I could be wrong.. and prolly am.

darkblade117

it's shield.... BG-57 is right... check it in the abilities page.

Azure Chrysanthemum

darkblade117

Azure Chrysanthemum

No.

RedCydranth
03-07-2005, 07:11 PM
Okay, Here's Meliadoul and Orlandu's skills:

Meliadoul:

Shellbust Stab Destroys the target's equipped armor.
Blastar Punch Destroys the target's equipped helmet.
Hellcry Punch Destroys the target's equipped weapon.
Icewolf Bite Destroys the target's equipped accessory.

Orlandu:

Stasis Sword Damages with holy sword spirit.
Split Punch Damages with holy sword spirit
Crush Punch Damages with holy sword spirit.
Lightning Stab Damages with holy sword spirit.
Holy Explosion Damages with holy sword spirit.
Shellbust Stab Destroys the target's equipped armor.
Blastar Punch Destroys the target's equipped helmet.
Hellcry Punch Destroys the target's equipped weapon.
Icewolf Bite Destroys the target's equipped accessory.
Dark Sword Absorbs MP with the power of darkness.
Night Sword Absorbs MP with the power of darkness.

And since you say its not class specific Here's the Knight's break abilities:

Head Break Used to destroy item equipped on enemy's head
Armor Break Used to destroy item equipped on enemy's chest
Shield Break Used to destroy equipped shield of enemy
Weapon Break Used to destoy equipped weapon of enemy.
Magic Break Diminishes enemy's MP.
Speed Break Diminishes enemy's speed level.
Power Break Diminishes enemy's attack power.
Mind Break Diminishes enemy's magic attack power.

So, if Meliadoul and/or Orlandu are their original class and are subclassed knights with all abilities they can NOT break someone's brave or faith.

(All info is taken from Job/Ability FAQ on gamefaqs.com)

^The first person to get it right asks the next question so it doesnt really matter. If you're too late and someone gets it right and its confirmed then dont answer that question.

When you first start how many people are in Orbonne Monestary(at first, before anyone else enters) and what are their names?

Despotus

There are 3 characters there, Princess Ovelia (kneeling), Simon (the priest standing by her), and Agrias (the knight who pleads with her to leave). Then Gafgarion, Ramza, and Rad come in...

I'm pretty confident of my answer, so I'll ask a question. If I was wrong just disregard this:

Despotus

Yes, they can... the bastards! I ran into a black mage (wizard) who knew 'Frog' in the Zeklaus Desert; and every time I 'Frogged' her or one of her allies, the little frog would cast 'Frog' on herself or a frog ally. She was a pain in the a$$, so I ended up turning her into a chicken instead.
The fact that she could cast 'Frog' really surprised me...I think it could be a programming glitch. :p

Azure Chrysanthemum
03-11-2005, 04:56 PM
Well, as I recall, in FFIV you can still cast Piggy while a Pig and Mini while small and Frog while a Frog, so I can understand it.

Azure Chrysanthemum

:meatwad:

Despotus
03-16-2005, 12:18 AM
In the "Gafgarion fight" where you have to pull a lever to open the gate and let your party join Ramza is at the Gates of Lionel Castle; here a character can be up on the wall with another character underneath on the path through the gates. And Inside Igros Castle, where you fight Dycedarg with help from Zalbag, I believe there is a bridge that you can stand under while another character is on the bridge above...and I'm sure you can be on and under the bridge at Zirekile Falls. Those are the storyline battles that I know of where it is possible.
Then there are the extra missions like Nelveska Temple where you can be on the hill and underneath it inside Worker 7-New's cave. As well as (I think) the first two battles in the Colliery Underground, where some Chemists and Behemoths hide in doorways and caves. Is that all of them? :fpcurious :fphigh:

BG-57
03-16-2005, 02:28 AM
It's not all of them, but I only asked for two. Here's the ones I could find:

Fort Zeakden (bridge)
Zirekile Falls (bridge)
Zaland Fort City (archway)
Golgorand Execution Site (archway)
Gates of Lionel Castle (archway)
Underground Book Storage First Floor (doorway)
Yardow Fort City (archway)
Poeskas Lake (bridge)
Gates of Limberry Castle (archway)
Inside Igros Castle (bridge)
Colliary Underground Third Floor (bridge)
Colliary Underground Second Floor (bridge)
Nelveska Temple (cave)

Dryads (Woodmen and the like...) aren't exactly immune to Earth magic. In fact, it heals them. :)

Question: name the combination of weapon, armor, helmet and accessory that brings the highest speed boosting to female units without using haste. :hyper:

RedCydranth
03-19-2005, 05:54 PM
I can't remember the speed boosting stuff, but if Ramza yells at them 95 times, their speed is maxed out. LOL. Screw Equipment, Yell rocks!

Yesterday I had ramza yell at a Chemist until her speed was like 40, I had her do nothing but accumulate until her atk was 99... she mastered the job in one battle. FFT is so cool.

darkblade117
03-19-2005, 11:35 PM
okay here we go... h-bag, thief hat or green berret or flash hat, secret clothes, and either cursed ring or sprint shoes... and since we did that question, which item combinations can give you the highest PA boost without accumulate or scream(or any spells and such for that matter) for any unit? and which class has the highest PA bonus?

Despotus
03-20-2005, 01:46 AM

Faith Rod
You can't buy a Faith Rod, can you? The only one I ever found was on Valkyries in the D.D. :p This is a tricky question, keep guessing...

thief hat or green beret or flash hat
It's definitely Thief Hat; it gives a +2 to speed. Green Berets and Flash Hats are only +1. P.S.: Your other items were right. ;)
And as for the PA boost items: (Weapon) Mace of Zeus, (Helmet) Twist Headband, (Armor) Power Sleeve or Robe of Lords, (Accessory) Bracer.
And I believe Monks get the best PA bonus of any class.
I, however, will wait for confirmation and for someone to answer the first question above.

Escutcheon and Escutcheon (II) look nothing alike. Your answer, however, is halfway right.

Despotus
03-30-2005, 12:39 AM
Well this sounds tricky... or is it just obvious  ... I would guess that at the points in the game where you have to make a choice (Whether or not to save Boco, buy a flower from the flower girl, attack the north or south wall of... was it Bethla Garrison? :rolleyes2, or allow special characters to join your party) you can only choose option 1 or 2, not both. Actually, I should have asked for status effects that change color or hue because I was also looking for "Transparent" and "Regen"...oops :rolleyes2

OK.

Question: Name two weapons that it's helpful to be hit with.

Well, Healing Staff is obviously one of them. If you want to put a character in "Faith", I guess you could include the Faith Rod.

BG-57

The Healing Rod is correct.

I'll accept Faith Rod although a faith of 100 is a mixed blessing.

Ask away. :)

Haha, very true. Okay, let's see....

This one should be relatively easy. What are all of the actual 'job classes' for the Lucavi?

BG-57
04-01-2005, 09:27 PM
Not that easy: :greenie:

We never see Cardinal Draclau in combat but I assume he's a Cardinal.
Queklain is an Impure King.

Weisgraf is a White Knight.
Velius is a Warlock.

Elmdor is an Arc Knight.
Zalera is the Angel of Death.

Dycedarg is a Lune Knight.
Aldramelk is the Ghost of Fury I think.

Vormav is a Divine Knight.
Hashmallum is a Regulator.

Alma is a Cleric.
Altima is a Holy Angel/Arch Angel

Elidibs is some kind of high-level Wizard, but we never fight him directly.
Serpentarius is...um, Serpentarius.

Correct. By the way, you actually gave me even more than I required; I only needed Impure King, Warlock, etc., and not the job classes of the hosts. Good work, though.

BG-57, you're up!

Not knowing which forms of the Lucavi you wanted made it trickier than you perhaps intended. :greenie:

Question: You can complete every subquest and get every character and rare item and still completely avoid one of the locations on the world map. Where and what is this place?

RedCydranth

I believe it is Dolbodar Swamp.

BG-57
04-03-2005, 04:25 AM
Correct! :)

Bervenia Volcano is the other avoidable location with no boss fights, but it's also the location of the Materia Blade.

Ask away.

What does the ability Odd Soundwave do? And who has it?

darkblade117
04-03-2005, 08:23 PM
hmm... if i remember correctly, odd soundwave causes dispell.. so any cool thing u have on you like, regen for example... gone. and it comes from the monster squidlarkin...

this is a bit of a cheat, a flaw actually, in the game that let's you duplicate weapons. and here is my question, how do you go about doing this duplicate cheat, and what weapons can you duplicate?

BG-57
04-03-2005, 09:35 PM
Have a character in a class that can equip the weapon you want to duplicate (for example, Knight to duplicate Knight Swords) and shields, then equip Two Swords on them. Then put the weapon you want to duplicate and a shield in the 'wrong' hands (weapon in the left and shield in the right), then go to a shop and choose the Best Fit option. The character should now appear with two copies of that weapon in their hands (so one is new). Agree to pay the price and leave the shop. Repeat as necessary.

I know for sure it works with Knight Swords, maybe Swords as well.

Despotus

I think you can duplicate any one-handed weapon that is more expensive and more powerful than the weapons of the same class for sale at that shop. So, you can't duplicate inexpensive weapons like Mace of Zeus or Nagrarock.

BG-57
04-04-2005, 02:32 AM
The weapon selection seems more limited than that even. You can't equip shields in most classes and you can't equip Two Swords and Equip Shield at the same time. You need to be able to equip both the weapon and a shield at the same time.

Also, I've tried (and failed) to get copies of the best Katanas using Orlandu (who can equip Katanas and shields as a Holy Swordsman).

Don't forget that the weapon power has to be weaker than the weapon you want to duplicate.

It's been 5 days since Darkblade last logged on to the site. Anybody want to ask a question while we're waiting? Go ahead if you've got one...

And, of course, let us know who got the question right when you get 'Phoenix Down'-ed, D.B.117 :p

I also believe that's the right answer. There's never a fight in Warjilis. ;)

Question: In the course of the game you can get a helmet, a spear, two guns, and two swords that cannot be used. Name them.
