I believe that diversity helps people understand each others cultures and beliefs.

However some people don't think so, particularily the anti-immigration people on these sites:

http://www.canadafirst.net/immi-kill/index.html
http://www.canadafirst.net/
http://www.canadafirst.net/case_against_immigration.html

For some people, it raises xenophobia from within. Sure immigration needs to be controlled, but is degrading an entire culture of Asia a good approach?? Basically the anti-immigration people are protesting against the government for having loose immigration laws. But these guys are trying to justify their cause by labelling immigrants as: stupid, slow-reacting, souless barbarians. They only complain about Asian immigrants and never European immigrants. Also they show only the unsucessfull Asians on their websites.

In economic perspectives, they also ignore many factors of the cause in the recession and blamed it all on Asians. They seem to have this really strong phobia of Asians. What do you think? Is diversity unhealthy for the human race?? Why are Asians hated so much? Besides it is the only continent where nukes are actually used against people. People in hiroshima and nagasaki are still getting sick from still existing radiation.

I actually ended up in those web-links accidently when I am researching on population and economic statistics. So what do you think?? Is diversity good or bad??

Neither, how many minorities you have shouldn't be a factor because race shouldn't be a factor.

Diversity is a good thing. You can learn a lot from diverse people. These people might be scared of loosing the familiarity of everything in their life by the Asians having different views and approaches, even if some of them might be better.

I think its a great thing. Infact, I can't imagine living without it...

Oh wait I do...the southern united states...gotta love the homophobia, racism, and xenophobia! -___-

What I posted came from these sources by the way.

They always tend to complain about the "intelligence" of Asians. Yet they don't seem to complain about the Asian products they use.

As I recall, I've never exhibited those qualities, and neither do the great many people I know who are southern like me. I think you're being a hypocrite, and from other things you've said in the forums, it's not like you to be prejudiced based on race, sexual orientation, gender or religion. So I'll thank you to remove your prejudice on geographic location and stop considering all people south of the Mason Dixon to be inbred, bigots because that ideaology is even more backward than the ideaology of most predjudice people I've met.

That being said, diversity is a wonderful thing. I enjoy learning about other cultures from their practitioners, as long as they have an open mind about me and my culture. If I'm expected to accept them, but they're not expected to accept me, then I would really rather have nothing to do with them.

Well I have to be harrassed and terrorized verbally by them everyday...I've yet to see any who aren't within the description. But I know that you aren't.

I'm just sick of being here. I'm sick of all the racial slurs and remarks I have to hear. I just got yelled at for opening a door for a black woman afew hours ago...I just hate it.

But sorry...I'll try to keep my frustration out of this.

Regardless of your personal experience, FoA, the South has a disproportionate number of xenophobic, homophobice, racist hicks. If the the Confederacy had managed to stay seperate from the US, I have no doubt that it would be a fundamentalist theocracy today.

I'm all for it, seeing as how I'm Asian. Minorities have a word for people like that and it's "idiot".
