View Full Version : Gods and Goddesses, a waste of time?

It's been a while since a new thread was posted, and I have been curious about popular opinion on the idea of God-like party characters. There is a trick to boost your characters' stats up to 50 speed, 99 PA and MA, and 999 hp, by leveling down in a weak class like Bard, or Calculator and then going back up again as a stronger class. See: ffgurus.net/fft/?section=godguide (http://ffgurus.net/fft/?section=godguide) for details. Do you think this is a killer way to have the most kickas* party, or is it just a waste of countless hours (as if we weren't all already doing that! :D )

It's fun and satisfying, but not really necessary if you're a good player and your people have decent stats/skills already.

Part of the fun of Final Fantasy Tactics is the tactics it requires to win, not having godly characters that are indestructable.
Not that that's a bad thing though.

Having Godlike characters is cool beacuse you can make fun of your friends weak people. Then you can show the bosses a thing or two when it comes to show time. BUT: having high characters really early in the game makes the game so......easy

Final Fantasy Tactics is a Strategy RPG, meaning that to get the most fun out of it, you plan a strategy and use it to win. Like, you have one group go in and do something while another group backs them up or something like that. Just a flat out "beat the hell out them because you're strong enough to do it" attitude is somewhat boring, and really belongs in a different game.
Final Fantasy Tactics is the most enjoyable if you level moderately, and make sure that you're no more than probably 3 levels above your enemies in major (not random) battles. Enemies in random battles will always be near your level, no matter what level you are.

The highest my characters in any data ever get to is level 70 before I say screw it and travel to the city of the dead.
I personally think its kinda boring to max them out =p esp when Ramza's combo can do over 1,000 dmg if they both hit

One of things I like about FFT is that it can be customized to suit individual playing styles. Personally I like to max out my characters, but that doesn't mean everyone else should. It's not necessary to do that to win, I just find it satisfying.

What combo are you talking about? Two Swords?
