OK well my step dads computer has been having some problems since he got SP2. He couldnt read anything in his CD drive and now after I did a system restore I get a blue screen that says to do a virus scan and all that good stuff but, the computer won't start up and and mode ( be it safe/regular/ect.) at the bottom of the blue screen it says "stop: 0XOOOOO7B (OXF8B02528,0XC00000034,0X00000000,0X00000000)

Anyone know what's wrong?

0x7B indicates a boot sector virus (doubt it), or hardware misconfiguration/device driver problems (possible if you had CD access problems lately), amongst other things (not very helpful), according to the MS site. Although if you can't even boot into safe mode, only thing that's left is a reinstall :p At least try repair reinstall first though, though that'd downgrade the system to either Gold or SP1 status, then reapply patches as needed.

I'd suggest using Linux, but it's way too non-user-friendly. Oops, I'm sorry, I forgot to speak user-friendly language. What I meant to say was 0x00000049, 0x00000064, 0x00000020, 0x00000073, 0x00000075, 0x00000067, 0x00000067, 0x00000065, 0x00000073, 0x00000074, 0x00000020, 0x00000075, 0x00000073, 0x00000069, 0x00000006, 0x00000067, 0x00000020, 0x00000004, 0x00000069, 0x00000006, 0x00000075, 0x00000078, 0x00000002, 0x00000020, 0x00000062, 0x00000075, 0x00000074, 0x00000020, 0x00000069, 0x00000074, 0x00000073, 0x00000020, 0x00000077, 0x00000061, 0x00000079, 0x00000020, 0x00000074, 0x00000006, 0x00000006, 0x00000020, 0x00000006, 0x00000006, 0x00000006, 0x00000002, 0x00000075, 0x00000073, 0x00000065, 0x00000072, 0x00000002, 0x00000066, 0x00000072, 0x00000069, 0x00000065, 0x00000006, 0x00000064, 0x00000006, 0x00000079, 0x00000002.

In any case I got this kind of thing once, and I had to reinstall Windows. It was either my graphics card or a firewall causing it. In your case if it IS a virus, your best option is to format your hard drive even if you do finally get it to boot/run. You can never know how much damage virus did and whether you're truly clean. If I were you and if I wanted to reinstall Windows for whatever reason, I'd boot from a Knoppix CD (or maybe the Windows install CD recover console) and copy all the files I wanted (data only, no program files) to a backup medium, and then hand-delete the partition and/or format it and reinstall Windows from scratch, this time without SP2.

Then copy your backup files into a different partition and scan that partition before opening any files, unless a virus scanner can scan cds properly, in which case you scan the cd and check for virus evilness.

I tried to boot form the windows CD but, the cd drive isn't reading any cd's so that's a problem. Anything I can do on the computer without actually starting up windows and without using the CD?

If the drive is dead (it appears so if you say it can't/doesn't read), then try booting with the cd drive unplugged and see if you can boot to windows, and if not, try borrowing someone's cd drive or from another comp you have and try botting from a CD in the "known working" drive.
