does anyone know what to do when your playstation 2 wont play any games and keeps on saying disc read erro or please insert a ps disc? because its happening to mine! i know its not the discs cuz it wouldnt even play jak3 which i just bought, bran spanken knew! can someone please help me as soon as possible...... :confused:

How old is it? A lot of the older PS2 models ended up getting that. If it's still under warranty, you can send it to Sony and get it replaced, but if not you're kind of SOL.

i got it 2 years ago. how old does a playstation have to be to be considered old?

That's definately old enough...and also means that it's probably no longer under warranty. There's do-it-yourself ways of fixing it that are kind of a pain that involve playing around with the guts of your PS2, but yeah...RIP PS2.

I had that happen. I ended up buying a new one. I've had that one for awhile and no problems.

Sony sucks, basically.

Yeah...the good thing is that Sony finally got it right. We all hope. Most new models have had limited problems with the DRE.
