When I played FFX, Biggs and Wedge gave me pornographic pictures of Kimarhi, Auron, and a Malboro doing dirty things together. WHY REDXIIII, WHY?

Wedge actually first showed up in FFVI (American FFIII), but he was partnered with Vicks, which undoubtedly led to the changing of his name to this "Biggs" you speak of.

Biggs and Wedge originated from Star Wars Episode IV, They were both rebels assisting Luke in the Death Star Attack. I think Square picked up on it and used it to their benifit.

Yeah, they're the extras, the fodder.

The poor saps who were more or less in the background but got caught up in the main story.

After what happened in VI, and even moreso in VII, I was glad to see how their appearance in VIII works out.

In VI, they are vaporized by the esper at the very beginning of the game. Not that they were really good people in this case. In VII as members of Avalanche, they died when the sector piece came down on top of them. In VIII, you get to Lunatic Pandora, find them there yet again, and they quit.

Hmmm.....Square needs to make an ff game with a boss named Death Star in it, just to piss ol Georgie off. No, wait, then Lucasarts would sue Square, and then Square would go out of business. nvm!!!! But, seriously, a little villain named Death Star would be cool. I can just picture, ffXIII: raid on Hell, all the ff villains...and KH ones....and all villains in every Square game. And then theres Death Star, a lone, little goblin, who turns out to be the main villain, cuz he orders his big ape-man buddy, Gergar Mukha, to eat the main characters love interest, so he goes on a quest to find Gergar and cut open his stoumach before he can digest her....and then poor innocent Death Star comes when yer fighting Gergar, and kills him with his evil buddies, who just happen to be every single boss in any Square game. And then Death Star tries to kill you next, and you keep dying cuz this guy is more powerful than Sephiroth......the end.

Their name IS in Final Fantasy Tactics. If you randomly create a new male squire, occasionally his name will be Wedge or Biggs. No real story line but they are there. My friend had a game with both. One he got at the beginning one he used a Mediator to join because of his name.

Cid is in every Final Fantasy from 2 up.

Cids
FF2 - Owner of the Airship in Paloom
FF3 - Owner of the Airship in Kazus
FF4 - Owner of the Airship in Baron, becomes a member of your party
FF5 - An integral character
FF6 - Scientist who made terra and Celes's magical ability with Espers in the Magitek Factory. Looks like a Hot Dog
FF7 - Spear weilding pilot from Rocket town, eventually pilots the Highwind (Often the name of airships in FF). One of your best fighters IMO
FF8 - Head of the Balamb Garden's SeeD Academy
FF9 - Regent of Lindblum, tragically turned into an Oglop
FFX - Yuna's Uncle and Head of the Airship run by the Al Bhed.
FFX-2 - Same guy as X but Now he's an entrepaneur who turned Zanarkand into a tourist trap.
FFT - A nickname used for Orlandu, the games most powerful character.
FFTA - Mewt's poor father and later on the Judgemaster.

In FF1 and Crystal Chronicles there is no trace of a Cid.

Cid is mentioned in the GBA version of FFI as the original inventor of the airship.

With the exception of the staff of Mystic Quest (in which Cid didn't even appear), the people who develop Final Fantasy games have always been Japanese. As you can probably tell, "Cid" is not a Japanese name, and if you care to look at the credits of every game, you'll never see the name "Cid" amongst them.

MQ was developed by Japanese people. In fact, aside from Ted Woolsey (Translator), the only non Japanese names in the credits are in the Special Thanks section, which also lists one "T. Nomura"...

Sorry, I just have to point out something. I always believed that only Celes' power was made by him. Terra might have been raised by him but didn't gain her magic by his techniques, only Celes. Unless you mean perhaps he trained both or something with Espers.

Don't forget that at first he tried to infuse Kefka with esper powers and thats what drove him crazy. I always believed that Cid just studied Terra since she was a naturally magic inclined person.

Ya, a lot of people don't remember that. Was it Biggs or Vicks in that translation? Can't remember.

You neglected their origin. Final Fantasy VI. Of course, back then, Biggs went by a slightly different name. "Vicks." They changed it upon the re-release for PlayStation, Final Fantasy Anthology.

Or was Biggs Vicks replacement. Like Biggs wanted too much money and Square was all "No way Biggs. You're outta here" Then it's like Cheers were everyone laugh 'cos Square is an ex-baseball ref.

I wonder if anyone will get that?
