How do you pronounce various EoFF people's names? I still don't even try to pronounce calliope, spuuky or Wyllius. Shlupquack is a mess, and don't get me started on RSL

Your turn. Oh and there's free pizza here at my house

Calliope - kuh-lye-oh-pee
Spuuky - I've always thought it was pronounced as 'spooky'. Yes? No?

For some odd reason, DMKA always reads in my mind as 'DMNK'. I have no idea why, I KNOW it is DMKA and it stands for devilmaykickass, but I still always think DMNK. Go figure.

I want pizza :(

I still always think 'Cally-Ope', but I know it should be "Kuh-Lye-Oh-Pee". Oh well.
As for the rest:

primary accent is most certainly on the LIE and secondary accent is definitely on the PEE. Which just goes to show you get Nicky pissed and she'll lie til the cows come home.

It's Ka-lee-op. There is no PEE in Calliope. :cat:

I might have been, but it would still be pronounced Ka-lee-op!

...or maybe Ka-lee-op...unless Calliope says differently, of course, but I would still pronounce it Ka-lee-op because that is the way I have always pronounced it. :)

well, I don't know how the Greeks pronouced it, but anyone who watched the TV show or has been on a steamboat pronounces it with a PEE.

Well that explains everything then as I have never been on a steamboat...or watched the TV show...and I'm Russian. :)

There, for all you uneducated types. :D I learned how to pronounce 'calliope' by watching Dumbo's Circus when I was little. There was an orangutan who played the calliope and I think that was also his name. Not entirely sure, though. Calliope is also part of the name of a species of bird, and someone in Greek mythology that I can't seem to remember at the current moment. Too much drinky. @_@
