I just got back from the limited release of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and I have to say... it's incredible. I absolutely adored this film.

Bill Murray, Angelica Housten (I think I butched that) and Willem Dafou )and that) are at the top of their games... Dafou especially. He played such an amazing character. The characters were sheer genius.

The soundtrack was superb, especially all the David Bowie songs sung by a crew member in Portuguese. The cinematography was stunning, the sets were just gorgeous.

Lots of action, lots of laughs, and even some heart-wrenching moments. Everyone needs to go see this!

I saw it again today with my boyfriend and his parents. It's even better the second time around.

Each character in the film has these subtle habits and neat development. The sets are gorgeous, especially the way they present the ship. And when they present sea life, it's just... well I cant accurately describe how wonderful it looks. Go see.

This is the greatest film ever made and if it were a human child I would adopt it and name it Suzette Anne Marxism.

It makes me incredibly happy that you guys liked it, since I respect both of your opinions very highly.

I've seen it three times so far. And I got an official movie poster for Christmas (or I will get, it hasnt arrived yet) from my boyfriend. Yay!

I saw this film last night. Yea, i wasn't too sure what the think at first. lol I was trying to remember what Wes Anderson films i'd seen. Very quirky movie. The more i think about it, the more i realize i like it. Right there with you guys with the character depth and sets. The selling point however for me would have to be the use of Siguor Ros, a truely awesome awesome band! I was so shocked when i heard them play! Very interesting movie overall. :)

I've heard nothing but bad reviews for it.

Yeah, it's getting bad reviews. It's got a lot of subtle humor and it's not an 'average idiot pleaser' like, say, Christmas with the Kranks or that other crap.

I cant stand Ebert. He's hated Royal Tenenbaums, Clockwork Orange, and a bunch of other wonderful movies. And Leonard Malten or whoever, he gave Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas a 'bomb' and Kindergarten Cop two and a half stars. Yeesh.

Oh and Bert, Willem Dafoe is amazing in this. I never knew he was so cool. His character is my favorite in the film.

Some of the parts were down right hilarious, I thought. The humor in this movie is very unique...I liked it a lot. I'll probably buy it when it comes out on DVD.
