The 2004 End of Year Ciddies Winner Revelation Thread! (Tally now in first post)

For the next two Ciddies, I've had ShlupQuack write up a bit about the finalists. Here goes!


Cid
What’s there to say about Cid? He created Eyes on Final Fantasy in high school, and now reaps the benefits of his success with a beautiful wife and dog. Where would we all be right now without him? Out at a party? Doing homework? Something like that. Thank you, Papa Cid, for giving us all something to do when we should be doing more productive things.

Daryl
Daryl has been with Eyes on Final Fantasy for a long time, and does well to keep the lot of us grounded. She’s the checks to our balances, the Ricky to our Lucy. And she has a nice rack too.

Dr Unne
EoFF wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication of one of our longest members, Dr Unne. Always willing to do the dirty work and tell us when we’re being retarded, Dr Unne is an invaluable member of Eyes on Final Fantasy, and he doesn’t get thanked nearly enough for all he’s done and continues to do.

Farah
Always helpful, always calm, and always grammatically correct, Farah seems content in the background doing a ton of grunt work that he never gets proper credit for. Farah, though his name changes pretty regularly, is a constant at EoFF that we wouldn’t want to do without.

Loony BoB
Long overlooked for adminning, Loony BoB spent a long damn time as a Cid’s Knight, ever dedicated to making EoFF better and more interesting. He’s come up with many fun things that are still a part of EoFF, and gets all the hot girls too. Damn him.

Roogle
With all the extremes in the EoFF staff, Roogle continues to be a constant, a balanced mix of the extremes. He’s always so nice, always so helpful, always so dedicated, and he’s cute too. His rack isn’t quite as nice as Daryl’s, but he makes up for it with his rockin’ tush.

ShlupQuack
ShlupQuack is the goddess of EoFF, the embodiment of all that is good, and has a cute belly. She does next to nothing, but just having her around is blessing enough. Her presence keeps EoFF running smoothly, pleasantly, and pinkly. Let us all bow down in her honor.

Big D
Though not as Big as you’d imagine a Big D to be, Big D has a big heart and not a big ego. He doesn’t sweat the small stuff and is one of those solid anchors that all of those crazy spoon-faces staff members need.

Del Murder
Del Murder is a pleasure to have around both as a staff member and as a person. We all appreciate his help and his entertainment, as well as his willingness to tell people when they’re being stupid.

Kawaii Ryûkishi
A staff member of old, Kawaii Ryûkishi somehow snuck onto the EoFF staff and continues to torment us all on a regular bases, inspiring the most vicious nightmares and highest psychiatry bills. However, when someone really needs to be told their an idiot and he does it it’s just the greatest thing in the world. And he’s good at video games too.

Leeza
Whenever someone wants to cuddle a staffer, who else is there to think of but Leeza? And not a creepy cuddle like with Unne or BoB, but a real cuddle where you get all snuggly and happy. She’s so nice.

Matty Pie!
When we do things and then Matty Pie! helps and we like that, because that’s what he does. In the world of the EoFF staff, Matt is an individual who stands somewhere between the sane and the insane. Most people may not know it, but he can be quite opinionated and persuasive.

RSL
There’s a reason RSL was the theme of EoFF’s recent anniversary celebration: He’s been on staff as long as Sean! That alone makes him cool, since it can be so hard for some people to hang. He always keeps a cool head, and we all value his opinion. And his beard. Rockin’ beard.

Xander
Everyone loves pandas and, thusly, everyone loves Xander. Just another one of the awesome combination of females the EoFF staff has. She’s such an absolute sweetie, and always has something useful to say. She’s a ray of sunshine for our little message board.

Yamaneko
Yamaneko is a nut just waiting to be cracked, though, try as we might, his shell remains firm. He’s one of those people that doesn’t suck though, so good for him. It’s always nice to have him around to brighten our day, except those times when he laughs maniacally while crushing our hopes and dreams. Then he sucks.

Agent Proto - Jeffy is suffering from delusions. He claims to be "Ace" and "Pr00t" and even "The son of Bill Clinton". But IS he? I don't think so. Except the last one. And is he really an Agent? An Agent of what? Orange? AGENT ORANGE? ...I think I've discovered a conspiracy, I don't care to know how deep it goes!

Big D - I've always wondered about Big D. Is he really a big D, or is he compensating for something?

Del Murder - Delly Belly, Delly Boo, he loves jelly, he loves you! (Sing it to some old people and see what they do!)

Denmark - I thought of this user name, so I demand riches if he wins this. Have you been marked by Den? Has he touched your heart in ways you thought weren't possible? Do you have a spiritual connection with him? Yes? You're a freak.

Giga Guess - Guess who? No really, guess, I implore you! It's Giga Guess! Did you guess? Anyway, I wonder if he'll give out 10,000,000 Giga Points to the world if he wins. Guess if he does!

Loony BoB - Broke his hand while "changing a lightbulb", this soc means business, having won it last time! Will he this time? WILL HE?! OH AWARD GUY WHY DON'T YOU PUT US OUT OF OUR MISERY! Are we in misery? If we are, it's BoB's fault!

RSL - Will Raistlin's Shaven Legs come triumphant in this Ciddie? I have a feeling he received a vote, but just who from?!

The Captain - He's not The Captain of the Titanic, I discovered, and I think at this stage he's won four (possibly 5, depends on Best Veteran) Ciddies. He's the new HOOTERS! He's gonna win everything in sight! Run for the hills!

Yamaneko - I'm gonna stick with what I said in my commentary for him about this award: Yama "He was a sk8er boi she said see you l8er boi, he wasn't good enough for her". Possibly Russian/Transvestite/both?


3) Best Female
anime_angel - anime_angel is new to EoFF. She lives in Greece or a castle in the sky. She's been nominated for this here award (which might explain why I'm typing about her) and gosh darnit she intends to win it or shoot you all in the liver! Apparently.

fire_of_avalon - fire_of_avalon is an astronaut, currently living in a penthouse suite in Morocco. Her interests include water-skiing and invading non-Morroccan countries. That's what I've been told, anyway!

Fuzakeru - Already having won horniest member, Fuza is on the hunt for another Ciddie, and has specifically not stated "I will gouge the eyes out of anyone who beats me for Best Female". I know that I for one, am scared.

kikimm - The main question about kikimm is: Do you pronounce her name "Key Key Em Em" or "Kick 'em!" Personally I prefer the former, as I like keys. I mean, who doesn't, except for those stoned little things in Kingdom Hearts?

Leeza - This kitty bites back: She's got CATTITUDE! I haven't been waiting the entire Ciddies to use that line. Perhaps! A quote from Leeza which has nothing to do with this award: "Hmmm...interesting." You heard it here first, folks!

RSL - What can be said about RSL that has not already been said? Truly a great female, and I will not have anything said against him.

Rusty - Rusty is an Aussie who likes heaps of things such as saying "heaps". Will this give her heaps more of a chance in this Ciddie? You'll have to tune in to find out! ...or just read this thread in 20 minutes as Award Guy seems to love making us wait for these things.

Rye - As I'm typing this, this crazy little Spongebob fanatic won Cutest Female. She told me that she would "die" in order to keep Spongebob alive. As I don't like Spongebob, I'm going to grab a flame thrower and put this theory to the test.

ShlupQuack - Isn't she slightly too male to be nominated for this award?

TheAbominatrix - TheAbominatrix currently has an army of clones (of whom? Morry Taylor (http://ronwade.freeservers.com/New5-1x6.JPG) of course!) and she may or may not or mayhaps have plans to make them dance upon her victory in this Ciddie, should it occur!

Well, so here we are. What a long, strange trip these last couple of months have been. We've seen some great ups and some mighty hard obstacles to overcome. Yet, through it all, we've continued to come together as a community and bond as best we can. The Ciddies, in my mind, represent this bond, regardless of who wins or who doesn't.

Scrolling down the list of winners and nominees, I was struck by the wide range in people, some were new, some were vets, some seemed like shoe-ins, others came up big on the biggest stages during this. Great diversity here and it's only fitting that the awards should show that.

In regards to the Ciddies I somehow managed to win, I recall what Mike Caine once said, "Though I may be the winner, that does not make me the best." We all have so much to offer one another and frankly, I'd like to share all of what I've gotten with each and every one of you as I've learned and gained so much insight from all of you. Winning these only affirms my hopes that I might be doing some good rather than just helping in vain and I'm deeply honored and even more humbled by all of this, as all of us winners are.

It's a mighty fine forum we have here, and it'll only get better as we all grow and learn from one another.

Congrats to everyone involved in this, be you a winner, a nominee, a voter, or just someone who read through the pages and pages of posts.

So another great Ciddies competition comes to an end. Award Guy, despite being a unidexter (;)) for the duration of the competition, has pulled off a stunning award marathon once again. Surviving on little more than a Cow, A Kit Kat and a Peacock, he defies the odds yet again and dedicates a whole day of his (short, if Baloki has anything to do with it) life to provide us with up to the minute Ciddies coverage. The entire Eyes on Final Fantasy community wishes to thank you, AG, and perhaps one day, if you keep it up, BoB will set you free at last. Until then, back in the basement for another six months! *prods with broom* :)

As for the award winners, congratulations to you all. You're the best that Eyes on Final Fantasy has to offer, and that is not a feat to be taken lightly. When you're lying in a ditch, bleeding from your ears and mouth due to numerous gunshot and stab wounds to the head, alone, unloved, and with the planet consumed by nuclear conflict, at least you can say to yourself; 'Well, at least I was voted Most Likely to be Driving the Bus by that group of internet nerds I used to chat with'. :)

And for those who didn't win, don't be disheartened. There's always next year, after all, and just because a few elitist jerks don't appreciate you doesn't mean you're not a valued member of the forums. After all, We all had a good time, discussing, voting, and eagerly awaiting the results. In that sense, we're all winners.

However, in an actual sense, only the people who won awards are winners, and that's the only sense anyone cares about. :p

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to the next Ciddies already. Although of course, first we've got the Screen Name Tourney, The Video Game Awards, the rest of the Decathlon, the Elections, and countless other projects that our fellow EoFF members work so hard on for our enjoyment. There's never a dull moment around here, and that's what makes us such a successful site. It's not the award-winners or the admins alone, but every single member who's ever taken the time out to share their thoughts, start a thread, or joke around on these pages. Every single person who comes here, be they the head administrator or an unreconised newbie, makes this community even better than it was before.

These Ciddies saw nine first time winners! Trumpet Thief, Denmark, Kirobaito, Rinoabella, Yazoo'squeen, TasteyPies, Ouch!, >>--heartshot--> ♥ and Fuzakeru all won their first Ciddies yesterday. Some waited three years for this, while Rinoabella waited just over four years - I'm pretty confident that's a new record!

Extending their 3+ winning streaks today were Award Guy (Best Signature), Matty Pie! (Cutest Male) and ShlupQuack (Best Female), all reaching their fourth consecutive wins. Farah also managed to makehis fifth consecutive win - as Most Helpful Techy branches off the old all-inclusive Most Helpful Member Ciddie. Although Leeza was at center stage in this regard - her sixth Nicest Member award in a row means she now sits one spot behind Wyllius' record of seven consecutive wins in the same award. Wyll's record run was put to a stop as the feisty Scotsman's votes ran short of Psychotic. Wyll is no longer an active poster at EoFF, so it's good to see EoFF's voters moving with the times - however Wyll's record will never be forgotten, that's for sure.

Farah has interestingly now managed an odd record - he has won using more names than any other EoFF'er. He's used crono_logical, Guu, Arche and now Farah to get to his five victories, all in the Most Helpful Member/Techy award.

Del Murder's three Ciddies put him into the top ten all-time winners of EoFF Awards / Ciddies. He jumps ahead of HOOTERS into the #10 position. Shlup, the previous #10, also moves up as HOOT hits #11. Shlup now resides at #9.

New entrants to the all-time list (you require three wins to get on it) include The Captain (tied for #21), eest and Psy (both tied for #36), Big D, Rye and Trumpet Thief (all tied for #42). Trumps took home three Ciddies yesterday.

I can't reveal who voted for who - that's up to the individuals to say for themselves. :) 'tis otherwise confidential unless requested by themselves in public!

That's what the Best Veteran etc. awards are for. I'm pretty sure Unne has won Best Member while not being on staff so it's possible. Cap'n was tied for the lead at one point, too.
