Ohayo gosai-masu! (^~^) When I first saw a commercial for this new Cartoon Network hit about 2 of Japan's, supposedly, most popular J-Pop idols, I laughed in my head and thought that it would never be good enough to warrant more than 10 episodes. Wow I was wrong.

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi(*points to sig* Ami is the goth and Yumi is the unbelievably cute one) is about 2 kids who are trying to make it as J-Pop Idols. With the "help" of their kooky manager, they go around the country looking for gigs.

HHPAY is full of comedic relief, parodies, and, above all, Japanese music. Add in the ungodly amounts of cuteness and you've yourself an incredible cartoon.

So how do you feel about this cartoon? How do you feel about American cartoons that try too hard to be like animes(Teen Titans, Xiao -Lin Showdown, the Winx Club, WITCH, Megas XLR)?

To tell the truth, I hate all of them, save for Teen Titans and HHPAY. I love Teen Titans because I like seeing Robin and Starfire get ever so much closer and that whole thing with Terra was great.

That show scares me. I couldn't watch it more than 3 minutes.

I thought it was weird as hell, but still very watchable. I saw the episode where their manager got this metal band to tour with them and had them headline instead of the girls, and they ended up winning the headline by dressing them all up like boy band members while they were sleeping. Weird stuff.

Megas XLR is terrible, but the episodes where they have the fake Gatchaman/Voltron guys are great.

HHPAY... eh, I didnt like it much. I had my boyfriend TiVO it for me and I just cant watch it. I like the live action parts, because I've been a long time fan of Puffy AmiYumi and their music, but otherwise I dont think very much of the show.

As for American cartoons trying to be Japanese... eh, doesnt bother me too much, especially since Japan has a lot more quality animated shows than does America. We could learn a thing or two, I suppose.

Megas XLR is actually cool. <3

I want to see Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi now that I heard about it. It looks pretty dumb though from the looks of it, but I think it may be cool. It looks too much like the Powerpuff Girls, though.

Puffy AmiYumi is good, in the vein that they make good J-rock. (I guess it could be considered J-pop, I guess that comes down to personal definitions of music.) I think the show is mediocre. I'd probably love it if I was about 12 year younger, by whatyagonnadoboutthat, I guess.

Watching the live action clips of them made worthwhile. I'll put it that way...

I never thought of Megas as trying to be anime. It's just awesome.

I think HHPAY is ok, I think Megas XLR is ok.

The manager in HHPAY is "KAZ". My initials are K A and Z, coincidence?
