since the debut of FF7, i've been seeing (in anime/other video-games) that there was a string of white-haired villains. here are some:

Yami Bakura, Maximillian Pegasus (Yu-Gi-Oh)
Ansem, Dark Riku (KH)
Ultimecia (FF8), including Griever's mane
Kuja (FF-9)
Sesshomaru (Inuyasha)
Kunzite (Sailor Moon)

i'm wondering if Sephiroth may have started this trend  . or, perhaps the Japanese has something against them. and when they get their butts kicked, it's usually by a blonde, like Cloud beating Sephiroth :twak: , Zidane beating Kuja :chop: , or Yugi beating Pegasus :smash: , etc.

whatever the opinions, Sephiroth really is one tight-@$$ villain :radred: ! who wouldn't want to be like him?

I disagree... Sesshomaru isn't really a bad guy...
He has had plenty of chances to kill Inuyasha and he never takes them.
Alot of the times he is simply testing his little brother.
Also Inuyasha has silver hair >.> <.<

well, it was just a thought that the white-haired villains may have derived from Sephiroth. some of the ones i listed were possessed or overtaken by an evil force like Riku and Bakura. all in all, i think they're all Sephiroth wannabees.

Look at MGS2! Raiden took Solidus out in that, too! An ultra light blonde-haired guy taking down an old one-eyed, white-haired guy.

Haircolors in Animes/Mangas/japanese Videogames often have the following meanings:

Blue: loyal, shy, intelligent, reserved

Red: spirited, seductive, adventuresome, stolid, spunky, energetic, aggressive

Blond: naive, innocent, helpless, touchy

Brunette: faithful

Green: exotic, strange, reckless

Violet: mysterious, sexy, accomplished, titled

Pink: childish, cute, sleazy, pert

White: demonic, powerful, prudent, divine, superhuman

Maybe you can't generalize it, but at least white always makes a good villain.

Yeah, there is smth in what you said Braindead_Paul

In ff main character is usually blond (cloud, zidane, tidus, even Squall -dark blond), their loves are brunette (tifa, garnet, rinoa, yuna) and the bad guy have white/grey hair (kuja, sephirot, ultimecia)

Squall had brown hair and rinoa has black hair, Zell has blond hair...the hair colors theory makes sence, try looking at the hair colors on zenogears and xenosaga, perfict examples.

Chi?

I reckon it's 'cause Japanese generally have black hair so the polar opposite would naturally be white hair (even though it's hard these days to find someone of asian background without dyed hair, myself included.)

Well it stands to reason, he does have to travel at superhuman speeds. Of course he is powerful, I could imagine him beating Kefka...in a laughing match of course. :D (and it would be close)
