new arrivals?

i noticed there isn't a new arrivals area in the forum when someone posted that they were new to the forum in general chat.
i just thought i would be good to have a new arrivals area where newbie's can introduce themselves

I'm afraid that this idea has already been suggested a few times, and the staff aren't very enthusiastic about it. There's nothing wrong with having newbie threads in GC anyway, so they might as well stay there if they aren't causing any problems. :)
