Someone posted a comment in your other identical thread about load times on the PSX version, and I want to say Amen to that.

Personally, I think FF6 is already a great game and since it is great, there is no sense in remaking it. I already like it. I don't think I could like it anymore than I already do. So leave well enough alone. Those of you who don't own a Super Nintendo really ought to go out and buy one so you can play this game in its original splendor, minus any of the stupid "bonus" features that Square is bound to throw in there.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

FF3 is being released for the DS. Most likely someone just confused the American and Japanese numbers.

Wouldn't suprise me. Someone posted in the FFI-IV forum that FFVI was being remade for the DS based on that confusion. If it was being ported I'd gladly buy it, it'd be great to play FFVI on a long train ride... As long as I wasn't at the doom train part....

If they made any changes though I'd be unhappy about that, and it's hard to justify porting something to DS without making use of two screens, the stylus, wireless play, or the built-in mic. Now, that said, if they DID modify the battle system a bit.....

Blitz input commands could be done with the stylus, which would be less easy, and kinda fun.

Sketching could be done in some interesting new way, such as tracing the monster's outline or something.

Sword Techniques could be done by drawing the path of the slash. Quadra Slam would be fun :D

The DS has visual and aural capabilities far beyond that of the GBA, plus it has four main buttons instead of two. Any game that could be done on the GBA could be done a hundred times better on the DS.

Yes, but it's hard to justify making a game for DS without giving it extra features. Not saying it shouldn't happen, just that it probably wouldn't be a simple port.

But my primary joy over this is not that it will be GBA or DS, because I have both along with the GB player for GC and a Super Gameboy (love it, but it can't do GBC or GBA games... bummer), but rather, my joy is that FF3 will finally (legitimately) see American shores. I've played an emulator version of it, but it just isn't the same. There something about sitting on a couch, staring at a TV that I just love. I treasure it, really, since I've done it for so long. Like with FF1, FF2, FF4/2US, FF5, FF6/3US, FF7, FFT, FF10, FFMQ, FFTA, SoM, CT, CC, SF, SF2, and of course, all of the old-skool side scrollers (Ninja Gaiden, Mario 1, 2 and 3, CONTRA, and you know, the whole bunch of em).

Dang, I'm such a loser, right? Is anyone else here this stupidly addicted to video games, particularly, the old ones? I mean, Tetris will always be fun, right?

It's been confirmed in many places. Here's one http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/data/924897.html
