those at peril on the sea

On the lovely boatride between Mhaura to Selbina, Im sure you know of the Pirate raids, and the far worse Sea Horror (oh holy mother of GOD!), so what expriences have you had with these raiders of peace on the boat?

I killed the Sea Horror with a level 71 Red Mage.

I was level a level 60 Dark Knight/Thief, I would trick Guillotine onto him whenever my TP was up and he tanked with Stoneskin+Phalanx. Took us awhile but he eventually went down.

The only feet greater I've accomplished is quitting FFXI and retaining my life.

well haveing only riddin on boat once before i was blissfully unaware of the sea horror i was a lv 22 war on my way to windy for a mandagora belt as i walk up the stairs and open the door i see the sea horror ( i wasnt paying attention and thought it said sea monk) there being lv 50s on board i walked out while its back was turned so i could fish IT TURNS AROUND 400+ dmg with one hit i died and it went off one of the whm cast sneak raised me and i spent the trip hideing like a frenchmen on the bridge with the captin

BAH, that bastard doesn't open doors... I was hiding with the Captian once and the Sea Horror just WENT IN THROUGH THE FREAKING WALL LIKE A GHOST! >_<

The pirate music is legitimately scary! It makes me want to hide my taru in a crate belowdecks and hide. ; ;

And an old Galka of mine evoked the ire of the Sea Horror once... Ouch.

This one time 12 pirates spawned ont he ship and allthe newbs were at top during it and man there were so many dead bodies inside and outside because me and my friend opened the door and pulled them inside man it was funny.We watched all the lvl 10-15s die while the ones hwo went to the boat entrance at the bottom were safe.
