As the yen keeps becoming strong so does the price. Its looking like $200 and $250.

According to the January issue of OPM, Sony announced a starting price of 19,800 yen or roughly $185. I don't know if things have changed since then.

I remember reading on IGN(or some other popular gaming site) that it would go from $200-$300.

Slashdot sez $200, possibly dropped to compete with the DS.

Whoever told you that is an idiot. Originally it was supposed to be $250+. When Sony announced the 19,800 yen(roughly $185) starting price, everyone was shocked. It was generally considered in that issue of OPM that Sony could actually be losing money this way, but it makes it very competitive with the less powerful Nintendo DS.

EDIT: Just saw PSP info on Slashdot, updated just earlier today:

While the price and exact date aren't entirely clear, the USD equivalent of the Japanese sale price is a little under $200USD.
Whether it's going to be $20 or $5 under, we won't know until the launch. :p
