Maybe a stupid question

hey, alright, maybe this is a really stupid question... but is final fantasy XI only an online game? does it need to be played online or does it work like a regular computer game?
like a said, its sort of a stupid question, but i would be really keen to play the game but if its only an online game then i wont be able to coz my internet is slow and crappy :( (56K modem)

I played with 56K, works fine in beta, should work fine here. Just patch d/l sucks.

first theres no stupid questions only stupid ppl <not a insult just a statement> second you will be fine with a 56k my friend has one and he sometimes lags less than me and i have a cable modem

You should still know that it is NOT like other Computer Games.

You can Only Play On-line. and after about Lvl 10 you MUST find groups of people to play with, you cannot play Solo after Lvl 10.

Some stuff u might want to know.
