I think that the band from Finland HIM is definitely one of the best bands of the last 5 or so years. I love that they actually put thought into their lyrics and use heavy guitar riffs. What do you guys think? And if you do like them, what is your favorite song by them? Mine is "Heartache Every Moment". It is tragically, hauntingly, beautiful.

Wow, not many people can boldly say HIM is one of the best bands the last 5 years. I never really liked HIM, in fact...I think Coldplay is a better band than HIM. So that's either an insult or a compliment...if you know my opinion of Coldplay. :)

I like HIM a lot:) it was good to listen to on the way to alabama and back ^_^ well, back anyways:)

I'm not hardly as picky as many are when it comes to music, and I hardly keep up with the latest stuff.

However, the best stuff to happen to *me* in the last year or so would probably be jrock and such:) But I dunno. Like I said, I have fairly low standards, or so my dad implies¬¬

Alot of my friends say they despise HIM, but i've got a feeling they've only heard the new record - and all HIM videos are awful to boot, i always prefer just to hear songs without the video.
As for favourite songs - I think "For You" has a beautiful harmony part with the female singers, "Your Sweet 666" has a kind of 80's funkyness to it, and "Join Me" is generally rather good.

I saw them live back in October, it was a bit <img src=http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif><img src=http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif><img src=http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif><img src=http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif>e. I got bored and went for a drink halfway through their set. It's not brilliant music anyways, and I'd definately not say they were one of the best bands of recent years. I'd rather listen to HIM than Franz Ferdinand/The Stroke/all this other garage stuff though.

As a bonus, the support band for HIM were Cathedral, who have the siner from Napalm Death. They put on a show, and their guitarist was great. Though I heard a fair few girls yelling for them to "go away" and "we want HIM!" in Wolverhampton accents.
