Best gaming finds

What were your best gaming finds..could be finding games or game merchandise/whatever. (eg. bargains or maybe just really hard to find stuff that you came across.)

One of mine was when I went down to the new game shop that opened in town, after going there a few times already, and they had just got BOTH toejam and earl games in, which I had wanted for a while for my megadrive but hadn't seen anywhere ^_^ And they were selling them pretty cheap too, about £2 each. Plus they both had boxes and the second had the manual too. Which was pretty cool, and the boxes were in good condition. I was really happy then. =)

Also when I picked up the FFVII strategy guide at a car boot sale for I think it was £1 or £1.50. It was a bit rough round the edges but not too bad. Also I found IX's strategy guide really cheap in a shop.

I really like finding old PS1-era games that I'd always wanted to play but never did back when they were new and easily accessible. Star Ocean: The Second Story, Mega Man Legends, Ape Escape, Tenchu, Jumping Flash! 2, Mega Man X4, X5, Einhänder, Threads of Fate, Vagrant Story, etc.

I saw Mario Kart: Double Dash on ebay once for a mere 0.99p. And it stayed that price till the end too! :cry:

My best i would say is when i walked into a shop and saw Fallout 2 for around £8, and i adored the original - so very happily i marched up to the counter, only to be told that the sticker was old and it cost £3! Good times :)
I used to go to a market where you could get copied playstation games for 3 quid per cd too. That got some frequent visits. Almost got mugged there once as well - go me!

I found mint used copy of Einhänder in Gamestop for $11 dollars.

I found my NES copy of FF1 in a pawn shop for $5. My strategy guide for it came from a thrift store for a few dollars :)

I found Suikoden II for less than $20. Also FFT before it was rereleased.

Both saga frontiers, Einhänder, Threads of Fate, Lunar Silver Star Story, FFT. I dunno I have lots of square games I've picked up over the years at the local gamestop.

I got Shadow Hearts on PS2 for free, second hand. :p

tenchu 1,
3 copys of granturismo 2,
Tony hawks pro skater 1 (when it was new and original),
medieval 2 (not as good as the first but still good)
and more recently an Xbox

for free.

(the PSX games were promotional disks so they were full games but without boxes and I got tony hawks before the release date)

Hmmm, A cd-store here in the neighbourhood has got al sort of games even old ones. I go there often when I need to buy a game. Disadvantage is that the new games are often more expensive then in the normal game-shops. But then again I never buy new games :D (unless they are cheap). All the old games including not the newest but around two month old PS2 games cost around 30 euro or less I even saw one of 8 euro

I found Final Fantasy VII for the PS in a gamestore last year. I was realy lucky, because they only had one in stock and I didn't see that game before or after that anywhere else.

I found Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne at gamestop sometime ago.

I was so excited that I finally got a chance to play it, and now its one of the best rpgs I've ever played!
