For any martial arts enthusiasts who are reading this ...
Am I correct in saying there are 36 weapons in the traditional Chinese martial arts repertoire ?
Recently , I was given 18 pewter miniatures of Chinese polearm weapons ie. spears ,halberds etc. some of which I'm vaguely familiar with along with the butterfly knives ,the dao broadswords ,the 3 and 9-section staffs , the hooked swords etc. which I'm assuming make up the remaining 18.
I just need to be sure , since I'm aware the more obscure or archaic weapons have either been modified or lost completely (eg. there are only two surviving " Nine Dragon Tridents " in China.) and may or may not be listed as part of the kung-fu arsenal.
