The question should be,

"Who hasn't seen Family Guy?"

It seems today
That all you see
Is violence in movies
And sex on TV.
But where are those good old fashioned values
On which we used to rely?
Lucky there's a Family Guy!
Lucky there's a man who
Positively can do
All the things that make us
Laugh and cry!
He's a Family Guy!

The jokes are pure genius even though they are stupid. Like...

Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?
Peter: I'll tell you what it's not for, son. And when I do, you'll understand why I can never go back to Sea World.

It's just like wtf?

Most of the show's jokes are more there to provoke a WTFH response lol.

O no, o no, o no!

KoolAid guy: O YEA!!!!! xDD

It has a very wonderful sense of timing and knows exactly when to suddenly segue to a side joke. In many ways, it's the cartoon equal of Monty Python's Flying Circus because the plot or arc of a particular story can sometimes go through so many twists and turns that the end result doesn't quite add up and yet on some level still does.

Take care all.

I wouldn't say it's declining, but if it is, it's comprehensible... I mean, for instance, Bart's been 10 for about 20 yrs or so... anyway, both shows r equally funny, but with different kinds of humor.

There was an episode where Chris went into witness protection, and Brian jumped into a closed car window with Peter in it. Peter sat there for a whole minute just saying things like "Bryyyyan", or "wake up sleepy head".

To this day, that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

the best gag, according to me, is in that episode where Chris gets concerned with his weight, and they all go to the pool for some reason, and it's like:

employee: I'm sorry mam, u can't park ur van there.
Lois: It's not a van, it's my son!
employee: oh... OH! I'm sorry...

Thanks a lot for that info, White Raven. I assume that it'll take some time to reach the UK, but it's nice to know what to expect from the new series. :)

Family Guy's humour can sometimes be a little bit too risky (When you Wish Upon a Weinstein being a good example of this) but has provided plenty of great laugh-out-loud moments. As it tries not to bog itself down in plotting, as The Simpsons can do on occasion, it is free to explore a greater range of jokes, which makes it the better show in my view. Its warped view of reality gives it far more scope for comedy, with each show essentially being a series of sketches. The Captain's comparison to Monty Python is pretty accurate.

poor mans simpsons.
If by that you mean "Simpsons, but more funny" then I agree.

Peter: Hello?, Has anyone here seen my son? His name is CHRIS GRIFFIN! thats CHRIS GRIFFIN! Hey have you seen him? Heres a picture of him, you can have it because he messed it up by writing his address, school schedule, and a list of fears on the back.

remember?
