I can see the computer, but when I double click the icon, I get the option to log in as [computer name]/Guest. There is no guest account. What do I have to change to allow access to the other computer?

Setup an identical password for both computer admins on the networked computers.

Doesn't even have to be admins, just make sure both machines have the same named user accounts on them, and the passwords match for like-named accounts :p

If your using XP I think theres an option that allows you to be automattically authenticated by the other computer using your computers username, try looking through the network connections settings :)

First of all, your advice boggles my mind as I can open the shared folder of my roommate's computer (but I don't do it because there's a virus there), and he has a different password (hopefully), even if he were using the administrator account.

Secondly, the problem was that I didn't turn on file sharing. Thanks though :D

I can think of many possible reasons, but too lazy to post them :monster:

Assuming, of course, that you and the other computer are running XP, an easy way to get sharing to work is to enable "simple file sharing" like so:

Why would any semi-advanced user want simple file sharing on, though?

*guilty* :D

I have it enabled on my home computer (this one) because I honestly have no need for any of the advanced permissions at the moment. :p
