There's supposed to be a really big blizzard in the north west. NY, where I live, will be one of the more snowed on states. I love the snow and I especially love blizzards. The snow is pretty, you can go sledding, and if you're lucky, no school!

What was the biggest blizzard you've lived through? For me, it'd be the blizzard of 96. It snowed so much then.

Many places have different definitions of "blizzard". Probably in the mid and southern part of the USofA you guys would think 30cm of snow would be blizzard material. Well, for up here in Ontario a "blizzard" would be aboot a meter of snow over the course of the day. And for an even worse definition, go up to Northern Ontario where they get meter's of snow regularly.

In anycase, the biggest blizzard that I've been through, is one that I can't remember cause all the winters feel the same up here.

It's also hard to cancel class cause of the weather. I think they closed of the University of Toronto twice last year and snow wasn't the issue. I think it was because of black ice on the roads.

Anywho, I hope that you enjoy your snow, and if you enjoy it that much move up here eh. :)

(PS: I <3 Snow)

In North Carolina, and probably a good chunk of the coastal south east, the biggest blizzard I've ever lived through was the blizzard of '93. By the time it was all over, we had six feet of snow. In the course of two days.

It probably doesn't seem like all that much for some Canadians, but it was for us.

And a blizzard is considered I think at least two feet of snowfall and winds up to 35-40 mph. I'll ask my dad because I'm too lazy to look it up.

There were like, 3 blizzards for me.

1993, 1996, and 2002. I think 1993 was biggest for me, when we had like 30" of snow. I don't know how much we got in 1996 because I was on vacation in Australia for a month(but it snowed so much I missed only 5 days of school), but we got like 28" in 2002. I remember building a fort in 1993...such great times. *sheds a tear*

My dad has pics from when I was maybe 5 or 5 and the snow was 12ft high on the side of the roads :0 it was crazy I guess. But, he lives up in the green mts so they get more snow then we do down here in the valley.

In California, its so hot, we never have snow. It's pretty sad. It was 85 degrees last Christmas (2004).

I live in Michigan's upper peninsula, an hour away from Soo, Canada, so it's not uncommon for us to get eight to twelve inches of snow or more on some days (that's normal snowfall). The snowbanks bordering my driveway right now are as tall as I am. In addition, I've consistently woken up to below zero weather all week. I don't know what defines a blizzard, but some storms up here trap people in their houses because they can't get out the door.

I love it, though. Not having snow would take some getting used to.

We got at least a foot last night, but it's blowing around so it's hard to tell exactly how much there was.

I've never been in a blizzard, and we rarely even get ice on the roads, much less snow where I live.

Seems Moncton gets dumped on at least once a week. That's how we decide what our days off from work are going to be.

I've seen some fairly good blizzards. Don't have any years in mind. We were supposed to get a mini blizzard last night but we didn't...

I got to drive in the snow for the first time ever tonight! It was fun! I slid all over the place but I know how to not die. Some people behind me weren't so lucky, methinks.
