View Full Version : A serious question about cereal. I am not a lunatic!

"Two scoops of raisins in every box of Raisin Bran"

Okay, let's assume this is true. Everything's superb, and we are safe in our belief that Raisin Bran contains the required amount of raisins.

However I bought a bigger box of Raisin Bran yesterday and never considered this:

If there are two scoops of raisins in EVERY box of Raisin Bran, are there less raisins per flakes in larger boxes, thus making it a less raisin-filled eating experience? And what about those tiny single serving boxes of Raisin Bran?? Do they have two scoops? Why, two scoops would overflow the box, thus lowering my flakey goodness!

I NEED ANSWERS! I AM NOT INSANE! WHO ARE THOSE PEOPLE IN WHITE??

The scoop is always growing or shrinking in relation to the box size in question so that you do always get two scoops.

Yeah, I think it's a different size scoop, likely proportional to the one the sun wields on the front of the box.

That's like lying by omission! Almost. They can use tiny tiny scoops for every box :p

I'd say the variation in scoop size does correspond with box size, as has been said.
But, if raisins are preoccupying you...why not buy a pack of bran flakes, and then administer your own army of raisins into the box? Ensuring the optimal distribution of raisin-ness. Or just scrap the raisins and buy all-bran...which leaves your stomach screaming and your colon gleaming

It's more expensive that way ;)

it's not that they don't fill up the scoop as much, it's that there are different sized scooping instruments.

Read the non-normal sized boxes. They don't claim to have two scoops. At least I know the tiny boxes don't, but I don't know about the big ones.

Yes you are. !

Perhaps, it's just their catchphrase?

Still, seeing as how the cereals are prepared in an assembly line, I'd assume they have designated sizes for each box, so smaller scoops, or cups perhaps for smaller boxes, larger for bigger boxes.

Take care all.

Nice try guys, but I have you beat yet again!

You see, a 'scoop' designates a large serving. A spoonful is NOT a scoop!

So, it's a misrepresentation what they advertise?

Take care all.

Indeed. This also makes me curious as to if there are other promises that cereals make that are not entirely true...

Take care all.
