Sabin's Blitzes

Okay, I've been playing on FFA (US), but I can't get Sabin's Blitzes to work. It took me a long time to figure out how to do the first one (Pummel, I think), but then they give me something with a diagonal, and I am confused. I'm like "okay, press up-right," but it's never worked for me. So, I've never seen most of his blitzes. I think Suplex is the best I can do. I have no problem beating the game w/o half of Sabin's blitzes, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong or what the catch is when it asks you to do a diagonal on the PSX version.

Sabin's Blitzes work similar to special moves in fighting games, like Street Fighter, where you have to slide your thumb along the direction pad to get the Blitzes to work.

You can also cheat and use the alternate direction commands. I believe that for Aura Bolt the alternate command is Down, Down, Left, A (or whatever the "confirm" button is on PSX)

Alternate direction commands? Huh? You mean, that sequence works as well as what it says in the menu?

Could you post a list of all the alternative direction commands? I only really need the one for Bum Rush, but it would be selfish of me just to ask for the one I want as other people may be curious.

bum rush- left left up up right right down down left

simply put, whatever direction you pressed before hand, ie up down left or right, use it for the next diagonal, got it?

I never really had trouble with his blitzes... of course, I'm playing Anthologies, but still... Do the alternates work for Anthologies?
