Crono Cross/Crono Trigger Sequel????

I've heard several sites saying about the sequel to these games coming out for ps2 except, I havent heard any official news. Although I do remember Square had the project set but I was wondering if they abandoned the project or not..

They abandoned it I think. They bought the trademark for Chrono Break but let it expire.
