I've noticed that sometimes, a band I used to like I don't like anymore. I know, this is normal, but what I'm wondering is: when this happens to you, is it because the band now sucks, or has "sold out"? (Think Limp Bizkit and Eminem, respectively.) Or is it "not you, it's me"--the band is still good, but you just don't really care for them any more, they've gotten old and you've found a new artist?
Usually, it's a combination of both for me. I used to like Limp Bizkit (Chocolate Starfish CD), but I could cheerfully sharpen the edges of their newest album and cut Fred Durst's head off with it for trying to do "mellow" songs. However, Linkin Park has stayed "true" to their original style, but it's been years since I actually gave a rat's tail about them.
I hope I'm getting my point across clearly.
