again, not a Poll. Which is the biggest, baddest, coolest Odin. Which one made his presance felt the best, which had the best horns :p

I feel Odin FF9, he had an awsome fantasy sword, whopping horns and he just appeared in the game to be mega, such as when he destroyed the tree city. I like FF8's, but i prefer FF9's

Please mark your spoilers. ~Krang

Rubedo: The FMV with Odin destroying all of that city was mighty impressive, and then his dissapearance in the flames.

chaos: Although, I preferred FFVIII Odin because for once, he actually gets cut in half. :)

chaos: Well, it's his fault for ramming himself into Seifer's gunblade. :D

i liked everything about FF9's Odin, then FF8 after that :D .

FFVIII Odin was great because he just showed up whenever he liked, and the way his attack was animated was the best out of all the games, I think. "ZAN. TETSU. KEN. ZANTETSUKEN."

Yea... it's almost tied betweene FFVIII and FFIX Odin... but I think I'll go for the one in FFVIII. I think he was more usefull in FFVIII.

Again, it's close between FFVIII and FFIX Odin, but I'm going to favour FFVIII Odin. Although he died, he didn't become corrupt and detroy Cleyra. By the way, what does Zantetsuken translate as?

Kawaii Ryűkishi

Zantetsuken is "Iron-Cutting Sword." Shin Zantetsuken, Gilgamesh's attack, is "True Iron-Cutting Sword."

Do any of them have a horse with eight legs?

That one will get my vote. (and I know it isn't ff8 because I've tried to count *Several* times and only ever see six)

yay for myffic correctness.

Sleipnir (in mythology, the name of Odin's horse :D ) is supposed to, but in the VIII i only counted six  . i think it's also six in IX. Sleipnir looks awesome in IX as well  .

Six legs is actually better than what he used to get.... I'm also gonna have to vote for FFVIII Odin, even if Seifer takes him out. There's just no shame in that though. The ease that Seifer went through him just shows how hardcore he is. He probably woulda done the same to Bahamut, or even Eden.

i dont think 9's odin became currupted. They were a part of Garnet and were stolen from her, when you leave children they can often go wild which is part of nature.

I'll go with FF8's Odin
because the most annoying part in FF9 was seeing...
Odin come out in a style...using his ZANTETSUKEN and then...
miss...........
thats y I prefer FF8's odin...cause whenever he came out he did his job (excep sifer)
and I loved seeing monster cut in half and get free exp and AP... :)
It would be hilarious so see Odin coming out to destroy Cleyra throwing his ZANTETSUKEN and after a while u see a text message which says "MISS!!!!!!"

Gunblades

im sure i remember other odins missing

In any FF I have played except 8 I am certian odin can "miss". This is due to him being a summon or some such in those games... afterall he can't one hit everything(not even in VIII) but at least in VIII you don't see all those misses and waste you mp getting him there.

I definately have to say VIII this time round he is definately neat, not to mention as Kawaii Ryűkishi said he has style :P

Gunblades

at the same time not having him as a direct summon is a disadvantage

That is true gunblades... But when VIII odin came in it could save your life(if you picked a fight against something you weren't ready for), for two reasons A) he doesn't miss B) He comes at the start of battle meaning you don't have to wait for a summoner(or someone with GF summon) to summon him.

B, is my favorite reason... more often then not, if I lose it will be because I am slower then the enemy... meaning a normal summon probably wouldn't help much.

well i like to playmy battles a bit like chess, which means odin was a queen and it doesnt help to have a wild queen.

If you really need to one hit kill something to win, though, you probably need to re-think your strategy. I actually liked that Odin was random in VIII, it made it a lot more "awwwwwwwww you're goin' DOWN now! BOOYA!"

i know plenty of people who lived in fear of Tonberrys in most FF's

I probably used him the most in FFVII, so I'll pick that one.

7 and 9 Odins looked very similar except his horse looked best in 9 put 8s odin on that horse and give him a larger sword,

Toberries *shivers* they where truly sons of bitches.

in VIII when Odin first came i was going "wth is this" i was about to make a move i see Odin appear and "i go this will be good"

I liked the FFIX scene but I really loved the whole Gilgamesh. Didnt he say something along thel lines of "The Dimensional door!?". That means he came from FFV right? He even had the excalipoor from the game. Thats a sub-plot twist I love. Oh Odin...Um yeah hes great!

I say FFVI's Odin, since he's the only esper that gives +1 Speed at level up. I also think he teaches Meteor at x10%.

I always loved Odins from all the FF's, but I haven't played FFIX yet. So, I guess I'll have to go with FFVIII for now. I loved how he showed up randomly with no cost of MP against annoying battles, but sometimes Odin was annoying when I was hunting for certain items that could only be mugged and he happened to show up on a rare monster. I think I had bad luck.

heres a question, lance or sword?

If we're talking actual usefulness as a summon, I have to go with Odin from FFV. He could slice most bosses in half, and even Javelin would do significant damage (also, he would always use Javelin if the sword wouldn't work; unlike some Odins, he never missed).

In terms of graphics, I'd have to go with FFVIII's Odin, followed by FFVII's. Most of the Eidolons from FFIX were well done, but I didn't like the depiction of Odin in that game.

Queens are overrated. Horses own, and he has a big... nice horse.
