I think there's a cheat like that on Game Shark, but I'm not sure, because I don't have it.

Some people have tried using that cheat and have said that it doesn't make the chest appear, it only changes what the book inside says you dodged.

Well on a PS1 Id probably recommend opening the game top which would normally slow the game but wether it'll work on a PS2 and you'd probably want to speed it rather than slow.

Just keep at it, you shouldn't really need to cheat. It's not that hard. It can get frustrating though. On my current play through I got to 196 strikes on my second try. I figured I'd be fine, but then I sneezed and had to start over. Just stay in one spot and run around in circles. Pause the game every 20 or so strikes to look away from the TV and relax a minute.

much the same thing happened to me as with Lord Krang..... except on my second go I got to 198 dodges - unfortunately i lured myself into a false sense of security and then got struck down within 5 seconds.

If you are going to do it the proper way (without cheating) I would recommend waiting until it is fairly dull or dark outside, when there is not much light and you squint slightly at your screen when playing the flashes of lightening will be much easier to see and you should be able to dodge them more easily. I agree that you should take breaks every minute or so - - - - but please remember (from my past experience) only pause the game straight after a successful dodge...........if you pause at a bad time you can unpause and be struck without being prepared.

If you ask me, you should equip a shield with the no-encounter ability and turn your sound off and i am going with ultimate on the dark outside point. this way its only just concentrate and dodge those thunderstrikes. i have come to a small 1437 times dodged :p yeah i know i have no life, oh and by the way you don't get anything for it haha

the pause thingy definitely helps alot~ don't forget to use it~ and also whether or not you think you've done 200, try to do like 250+ just in case~ yeps~ :D

I found it not to be hard, just time-consuming. It's easier than it looks.

I just did this 5 minutes ago. It is indeed not that hard. It took me about 25 minutes, I think.

No-encounters is a must, of course.

I found the lightening dodging the easiest of the 3 HATED Celestial Weapon Sidequests. I did it first try in 20 mins....I turned all the lights off & sound DOWN & reacted to the flash every time, what might of thrown me would be the sound, sometimes it strikes NEAR but not on & is loud & u make press X too soon. Reasct only to the flash & you should be ok, Pause after 100 then after 150 take a wee break.

I can't dodge it once. :(
