Ok now why is it that flare is considered "Non-Elemental"? That is clearly fire coming from the spell. So what is flare supposed to be some type of laser cause that's what Bahamut's Mega Flare looks like.

Just cause it's a dragon doesn't mean it's breathing fire. For all we know it could be a bad-breath attack, where your characters/enemies take so much damage because it saps their will to exist knowing such odours exist.

Or they already had Ifrit as a fire summon, either way.

It's non-elemental because the programmers wanted it to be the strongest spell in the game, meaning it should be just as effective against fire monsters as it against anything else.

I sort of think of it as just a generic "energy" attack. Remember, the damage from an explosion doesn't come so much from the fire itself, but more from the force of the blast. Sort of like Gambit's powers, and we ALL know that Gambit could take out Pyro any day of the week, right? :D

Yeah, energy sounds good, but I think kishi is right. The most powerful attack can't have an element.

Gambit > Pyro, even if Gambit was wearing a lead overcoat with a pair of rotweilers attacking his feet with one hand tied behind his back, his eyes closed, in the middle of the desert, while trying to remember the first hundred digits of Pi.
