You do not capitalize "the" in titles unless it is the first word in the title; this goes for abbreviations of said titles, as well.

Did you get beat up alot at school?

Doomgaze

"alot" is not a word, good sir. Perhaps you should go back to rioting after an association football game or whatever it is you do in your free time.

Is that a yes?

INDEED.

EDIT: No, it is not a "yes".

Shouldn't the 'kids' in your title be capitalised? :D

Why the hell would kids be capitalised? It's a pronoun.

This is not a book, nor is it a political party. Common convention for capitilizing a thread title is to treat it like a normal sentence. Newspaper headlines are the same way.

I asked Pete Townsend and he said the kids are alright.

Oh, and kids is a plural noun. Not that it matters.

That still doesn't answer why anyone would make a thread just to point that out.

Good job the T in "BAoTW" doesn't stand for anything, or I'd cry!

Here's another handy grammatical hint!

http://www.livejournal.com/~doomgaze/55280.html

Look at this. Shocking.

Someone should tell Doomgaze that all sentences should begin with capital letters! And also that when you shorten proper nouns (Such as Final Fantasy) the letter/s should also be capitalised.

Why the hell would kids be capitalised? It's a pronoun.Count noun. A pronoun is a word such as you, I, or they.

Wow, my journal from October. That's wonderful. Maybe I don't always use caps, because I want to be cool like krissy. It's pretty amusing that you had to go back that far, too. I'm sure there's something more recent here.

"eoff" is quite commonly all lowercase... for example, "#eoff."

I was merely trying to help a fellow fan of correct grammar, and this is the thanks I get! :(

It's "capitalized" not "capitalised". :mad2:

British use is often silly, but it is not incorrect.
