Great topic! I love transformers! Ever since i was a kid. The original transformers i mean, and Beast Wars was awsome too. But i really despise the new anime series...what are they, armada and energon? Sheesh theyre crap....anyhow transformers vs final fantasy. I think instead of Optimus Prime transforming into the Ragnarok it should be Star Scream....he was the man. And the original Megatron becomes Irvines gun! (im kidding bout that one). Sin vs unicron.....Unicron with his whole body intact would obliterate Sin...

i like Transformers Armada best the new one sucks, "eh eh ehhh" Vincent could use megatron to kill everyone (he never misses i should say) or everyone combining to create Ark (ff9) for the autobots and Ragnarok for the Decepticons. wow this has brought back memories

i dont like Energon or armada either, except the comics that used to be made by dreamwave, thye would have created awsome FF comics.

Two of my favorite things. Transformers and Final Fantasy. But do they go well together? I would say no.

why not. Even if you dont want the classic Giant Robots of G1, you have them animal size in Beastwars or even Technoganic animals in Beastmachines. BW/BM is ideal considering they would be relitively the same size as FF characters but far more powerful.

Damn the country i live in...they never bought Beast Machines to tv and i was sooo pissed! Ever since the end of Beast Wars ive been wanting more of it (cause lets face it, beast wars roked). I looked for downloads of BM, downloaded and watched like, 9 of them. then the site i was downloading from decided to not let me download anymore and i never got to see the last however many it was.....sigh. Oh well perhaps one day i will see them......... :cry:

I live in the UK and they never brought BM over here either. However, i bought the whole two serise on two CD's (hussh). It isnt as good as BW but it's certainly Top Transformer stuff. The CD's play on PC, i use a free download of realplayer :)

A TF RPG (role playing Game), theres plenty of them run all over the internet, not to mention video games etc. Perhaps i belive the TF franchise is bigger and more abundant then FF.

I just like the idea of combineing FF and TF

I wouldnt let the people on Transfandom let them hear you calling them silly, they are dedicated in an obscene way to TF, investing thousands of pounds and then living out their dreams in detail.
However theres a great PS2 game where you can be Prime, redalert or hotshot, i belive theres DD RPG's out there like the ancient Ninja turtle ones.

Seriously though, you can't just bring up all sorts of fan made games when I suggest an officially made game. I doubt any of those dedictated fans have nearly as much resources as a professional game development team.

so you took no notice of me talking about real games then. Also transfandom is one of the largest TF sites out there and has some of the closest ties to hasbro. If your not interested in checking it out it's no skin off my nose. BUT it's because of those same "silly" fans staing dedicated throughout their teens that Transformers is the ressurected and powerful franchise it is today. Many fan made comics are now considerd canon amongst the TF community becuase they bridged the void and were helped by the original hands that crafted the transformers.

Yes, I've seen a Transformers game in shops here, but it's not an RPG, is it? (No pun intended, I don't know.) The word "silly" wasn't meant to be taken literally either.
I understand that there may very well be many fan made comics, I read fan made manga too, so yeah. But a game is a *bit* more difficult to make than a comic.
I think I should inform you that I'm not *that* interested in Transformers either, it's just a bit interesting.

What I'm trying to say, is that FF meets TF? Sure, imo that would mean using a more epic way of telling the story, adding RPG elements etc. That's fine with me.
What annoys me is the impression i get from the posts in this thread. It sounds like it's FF battling against Transformers or TF with FF characters, trademark items etc., that's what I find silly.

well certain Videogames, while not as clear cut as FF do still feel like RPG's, however, there were RPG's LONG before computers even existed. I know hundreds of people who have been playing RPG's for years and they arent interested in anything roleplaying to do with computers or consoles. There were rulebooks and guides produced in the 80's for the Ninja turtles and im sure i remember some for TF.

The classic interpretation of a "cross-over" is something VS something. However Transformers has had a long history of competant and deep crossovers. Of course the Decepticons/vehicons/destrons/predacons are gonna side with whoevers evil, and the Autobots are gonna side with the good guys. But countless times even in their own continuitys Both sides of the transformers have found themselves tarred with the same brush. In Beastmachines it wasnt even good VS bad but rather a war of ideologies and moralitys.

Transformers has also been told, and sold over many mediums, toys, comics, models, animation, movies etc, the same way FF has been branching out of late. Whats being discussed here is the cool ideas and things that "could" happen. What FF forms would the TF's have to take when they are reformatted. What would happen when certain FF characters mix with the TF's. For example, Machines are frowned upon in FF10, but they are embraced in FF8. thats going to cause differnt problems for both sides. What about seeing a Giant Combiner like Devastator being taken out by Shiva or Odin.

It would be ultimate to have a final summon of the constructicons forming Devastator and then unlesh a mayhem of shots from his cannon upon the enemy.....i think it would even put Ark and Eden to shame

Unicron devours the Black materia from FF7 and it makes him even more powerful, a Transforming Summon. Only the Power of the Matrix-Gunblade can stop him lol

Y'know, if the trains that you take in FF8 were actually Astrotrain, you wouldnt need to take those pods to outer space....you could just jump onto a train like you were going to another town and then click clack click click clak! Astrotrain converts to shuttle mode and away you go! Outer space here i come! Pure genious! :D

hmm...cant say i remember them. Its bin ages since ive seend transformers. But id say Sephiroth would get hammered. How bout Sephiroth vs Rampage from Beast wars.....theres a tuffy (Rampage is almost imortal...with a full spark anyway)

Bludgeon was a pretendar with a skeleton face, he was the dark master of Metalikato - a forbiddon cybertronian martial art which he uses via swordplay and messing with peoples minds. Being a pretendar means he has a very well armoured outer body and inside he can transform into a tank.

Rampage would be great "I feed on your fear, i luv your fear". He only got blown to bits because he let depthcharge thrust an energon blade directly into his spark

Plus Rampage only had half a spark. If Depth Charge stabbed him when he had a full spark i dont think it would have killed him....Remember Optimus said that they tried everything to destroy his mutant spark........

thats right, although the energon was in a pure form on prehistoric earth, i carnt see the maximals trying to do something as dangerous and nasty as stab rampages spark with highly unstable pure energon...otherwise they would be as bad as the preds. Then again, look how rampages destruction allowed Dinobot2 to regain control of himself.

Damn i loved that part....when Dinobot2 gained his old self back (parlty) "this all seems....hauntingly familliar" (forgive the spelling) and then he does the noble deed of stopping Megatron from shooting the cannon on the anthropoid........it was great :cry: 'Ol Chopper faces' clone.....who'da thunk it' :D

But getting back on topic...what if a T-Rexaur had a scrap with the first Megs from Beast Wars in his beast mode????

Anyhow, the final episode of BW was awsome. It began with the "I am alpha and omega the begginning and end" quote from the primus book and ended with optimus recited a really cool quote from the same book. Ive actually got every single episode of beast wars on tape....i recorded them off tv when they were airing about 6 or 7 years ago (damn im old). The only one i managed to partly miss was the 'victory ep from the first season where the preds faked their destruction. I missed the begining.....crud.

i have all the BW taped too, when it finally aired last year on channel five, i missed the final episode and the two eps where tigertron and airazor were kidnapped by the Vok, i also have the entire two serise of BM on shiney disc but keep it hussshhhh lol

Hey there was that six issue serise of transformers where the autobots were woke up in world war two and so all their modes resembled WW2 military vehicles, spitfires and tanks etc, that would look cool in FF9, or even FFX/X2

it was fairly recent, a teamup with G.I.Joe where they are all WW2 commandoes. Europe gears up for the second wold war, and then everything goes silent, Cobra have deamed up with the ressurected Decepticons and totally wiped out the nazis. They leave europe a smoldering ash pile where only england stands. Fortunatly America sends a team of commandoes in who stumble across the ancient autobots and togeather they hope to end the tyranny of two worlds.

Yeah i think ive heard of it....cant say i like the GI Joe idea tho. I never got into that. But i could be wrong, might be great for all i know :D

no i never liked G.I.Joe either, but they are actually alot differnt, like all the crap was cut away and you just get the iiner core of the characters
