My "Services.exe" runs at around 3,750k, so I have no idea why yours is taking up that much memory. I would assume that you have some sort of Adware or Spyware running amok on your computer, but I couldn't be too sure. Download, install and run AdAware and Spybot: Search and Destroy and see if they make a difference.

If not, wait for cl_out to post in this thread. ;)

It's either a Virus or Spyware or it's the Virtual Memory settings within Windows, I would think.

If your running WinXP, to change Virtual Memory setting's goto..

Start > Setting's > Control Panel > System > Advanced > There's 3 sections here the top one is Performace so click on the Settings button for that section. Click Advanced, then at the bottom it say's Virtual Memory. Click Change choose System Managed Size and click Set. Click ok and then you'll porbley have to restart for the settings to take effect.

The other thing you can try is clearing some unnesessey items from startup. Goto Start > Run > and type in msconfig and click on the startup tab. Unchecking a box removes the item from the windows startup. You can put them back in by reckeching the box.

The values for Iexplore seem normal to me - my iexplore uses 11 MB per window when I open it with a blank page. Bit of a bloaty piece of crap :p I don't actually use it to browse, so I can't say for certain if it climbs that high under normal usage.

I'm more concerned with the BackWeb-randomnumber entry in there, looks like spyware for all I know. Like Raine said earlier, do a full virus check/adware check/spyware check, since it's possible that that's the cause.

Also, if possible, go to Start > Run > type "msconfig" and click OK > Startup tab, and give a list of every command in there and post it here. Or use several screenshots if it's easier, just make sure none of the text in the Command column is cut off :p

BackWeb-radomnumber can be part of Kodak Easyshare (I had a similar process, but it refuses to start now), or HP center, or some Logitech software too.

Why does it use such a name? :p
