Bungie, the same company that made HALO, has released the Marathon trilogy to the public! It is now possible to play these classic mac games for free (even IF you use windows). The Marathon trilogy is a space shooter released around the same time as Wolfenstein and Doom.

The main thing that sets it apart from those two games is its coherent, and I would say very good, storyline. The links below have everthing you need to get started:

Download link (http://trilogyrelease.bungie.org/)
Instructions for windows users (http://www.calormen.com/mwd.htm)
Marathon level guides (http://marathon.bungie.org/spoiler/index.shtml)

Hope you like it.

This is excellent news. It's been too long since I've played these damn games... *downloads*

I'm on a mac and am curious what happened. Did you just give up (due to the size of the instructions) or were the instructions not clear enough even after trying? Thanx

Too much reading. I can't be arsed to sit here for 50 minute straight.

Did Bungie actually release those freely, though? Note that that site is NOT Bungie's site...

Yeah, bungie.org is basically the official unofficial Bungie site. They already released the source code to the public several years ago, so it's not surprising that they'd release the rest of the content freely when it became unavailable by other methods.

Excellent, I've been itching to take Marathon out for a spin.
