Amazon has a new trailer for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I keep expecting to be at least slightly disappointed by this, but it looks like they're really going to do it right. They even managed to pull off Zaphod's two-headedness.

Yeah, but not... not quite RIGHT. I'll take it, though.

I can't wait. If I'm as disappointed with this as I was with Suikoden IV, I think I'll cry.

The TV version of the 80's was pretty awesome (if a little dated now) so if this is better or equal to it in quality, I'll be happy.

Was that white thing Marvin? I don't know if I want to see that movie. Some things are best left to imagination.

I saw the title "Don't Panic" and thought this was going to be a thread about Dad's Army:p

A few years ago I saw a few episodes of the older TV version of The Hitchhiker's Guide but was quickly overwhelmed and gave up.
However, I fully intend to read the book some day. Eventually.
There are quite a lot of books I say that about, but I actually mean it.

Everytime I see "Don't Panic" I'm reminded of a rather amusing story, but it isnt appropriate here. Shame. xD

I'm very eager to see it.

Wow, that was the first book I read in under a day. I absolutely loved it. I'm on the fourth book in the series for the second or third time.

A movie is never as good as a book, but since I've still never gotten around to reading the book, I guess it will be okay to watch the movie and enjoy it, I guess.

I don't think it's possible that they can make the movie as good as the book but it looks like they're doing a great job so far. The end scene in the trailer, though not being from the book, was actually quite funny. My anticipation for this movie has increased from high to frenzied. :D

True it cannot be as great without the brilliant description of Douglas Adams, but it should still be pretty awesome.

The old Marvin is way better than the new movie one.

Seriously, you have to hear his voice...it's PERFECT.

Jones was obviously the best one in Dad's Army. <3

The books are great, one of my favourite book series in fact. Didn't Adams want each version of it to be slightly different anyway? The books, TV series and radio versions, I mean.

Books are usually better than the films anyway (less said about the Harry Potter films the better, to be honest. The films don't deserve to be compared to the books, in my opinion), and I hope this can prove me wrong.

I believe so, yes. I think this is based on a screenplay written by Adams, too.
