Hey all...

After a bad expierience with Ka-Zaa my mom won't touch anything that involves shared files. So when I asked her if I could download a ROM she told me to find out if it had shared files.

I am assuming this site was something to do with FFDownloads since that is how I got here, anyways does FFDownloads involve shared files???

If by shared files you mean peer 2 peer networking, no, this site does not. If by shared files you mean things that aren't exactly legal, then technically getting the ROMs without owning the games is illegal.

(Never stopped me though ... I mean ...)

You can go ahead and download anything you want from this site. No one will ever know and if they do, who cares?

Anything you download from EoFF/FFDownloads will not have spyware or viruses. You can download whatever without worrying about it.

Even if your still cautious about spyware and virus, your should download AVG. It's really good, and after anything you download, you should scan the file with AVG to make sure it doesnt have spyware or viruses.

As far as shared files go, I hate them. They slow down your computer way too much. I think she means shared as in "free internet shared music", which roms are not.

Kazaa is the worst sharing program =/ Try Bittorrent.

How does BitTorrent work btw?
I once tried to download a couple of vids, and it took only a few minutes. So obviously I wasn't entirely convinced...and sure enough, when I tried to open the files, they said there was an error :/
It worked the very first time I dled a file, but after that...no more, so i gave up and uninstall the program. Oh well...

The files show up before they are completed because BitTorrent builds them piece by piece :p

Yea you open the torrent, and at first its slow, then builds up in speed as you share more. The torrent like the above poster said, puts the file image there first although its not complete so you see it, but its only a certain part of it. So once its all done downloading, you can watch it. Not that hard.

Azureus = Java = No thanks.

I like Bittornado because it allows you different bandwidth options. Clicking on "unlimited" has allowed me to get download speeds considerably higher than I've been able to get on any other Bittorrent client. It takes away bandwidth from other downloaders, but I make up for it by selecting the "Super Seeder" option and leaving the window open, after the download is done and I'm watching the new Naruto episode (or what have you).

AVG is a popular, free anti-virus application. You can read reviews and download it <a href="http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10342876.html?tag=lst-0-2">here</a>.

The fact that you refuse to use Java programs does not bode well for your future.

Bit torrent is the most flawless p2p I'e ever known. But theres always a catch.Bit torrent not being an exception.Once you get bit torrent.Your IP address gets put into a bigass list wiht other IP addresses.Your getting part of data from a video file your downloading from other peoples computer.BTW try re-donwloading the file lol I get my anime through bit torrent.

Anything you view in a web browser involves shared files. Someone has to make the web pages and images, and share them on the internet on a web server so you can download them and view in your browser as you please. If anything, tell your mum to stop using the Internet if she wants to be like that :p
