Which Boss Theme Kicks More Ass?

I can't decide what rocks more..."Otherworld" from FFX or "One-Winged Angel" from FFVII.

Although I occasionally wonder if "JENOVA" should also be an option...hmmm...

"One Winged Angel" is awesome. The orchestrated version that saw (same show that Queen Anthai is talking about) was truly magnificent.

However, I think I like the last boss song (Zeromous) from FFIV just as much. It perfectly conveys the "the fate of the world is riding on this battle" feel.

OneWinged Angel, certainly. And, you should listen these in a row: Jenove Absolute, The Birth of God, One Winged Angel. Crazy Motorcycle is cool too.

FFX OST? Seymour Battle's the best! I dislike Otherworld, just my personal preference. :rolleyes2

As much as I really like Otherworld, I have to say One winged angel. I never really thought of Otherworld as a boss theme, more just the cool song that played during the opening intro. Plus that boss fight didn't last long enough to listen to Otherworld. =P One winged angel is just awesome. And it's in KH too which makes it even better <3

One Winged Angel is a kickass boss battle theme, no question. It's definately the best out of all the FF boss themes I've heard (I've not yet played VIII or IX, so I suppose it's possible that some of the songs in those games are better than OWA).

My absolute favorite theme, though, is Chrono Trigger's Normal Boss Battle theme. 'Tis of utmost brilliance.

Oh wow, you guys need to listen to more songs. I used to love One Winged Angel prior to having every FF sountrack ever. It is a great song, and revolutionary for its time. But now, the song really doesent interest me a great deal. Being a fan of the "doujin" genre (japanese fan bands that play game music, usually metal style, think Black Mages), there are alot of songs that I find to be excellent when redone. For example, Dark Messenger is a great song (not nearly the best), but ViViX's version is way better. Real guitars ;) There are so many great arranges of songs like Dancing Mad as well. And why such a strong opinion about Otherworld? Still More Fighting from FFVII is a much better rock theme than Otherworld! My favorite boss battle theme has got to be Battle With the Four Fiends from FFIV. It's got alot of rockin, and it's fun to play on guitar. Also Final Battle from FFIX is a great song too. It has this creepy techno vibe I like alot.

One Winged Angel was a good song, but it get more credit than it deserves (a disease that everything on FF7 suffers of, in my opinion), especially with the whole ripped off lyrics (They were ripped off from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, so in case you didn't know.. well, you do now!!1).


I actually preffer the normal boss battle theme in FF7 over OWA.

Personally, I think one wing angel is a respectable piece in terms of coposition, but It pales in comparison to dancing mad, which is roughly four pieces that segue into one another. And the final portion, with the church bells chiming and the mournful music as Kefka descends in his full god like glory, I still get chills viewing that scene and the black mages remix does it alot of justice, even though truth be told I still prefer the original. As a part time musician I care little for the actual sound quality, and more for the actual composition, and Dancing Mad is likely uematsu's best.

the boss theme from VI is kick ass.
the Fight with the Four Fiends from IV rocks ballz.

Also, The Extreme from VIII has some wicked sixteenth notes in it.
