View Full Version : PM 99 second delay

It's pretty ridiculous I have to wait 99 seconds between each PM I send as Election Booth. Normally as eestlinc I don't have batches of PMs to answer at a time, but still. The delay used to be 60 seconds and that was annoying. 99 is horrible.

I understand the need to prevent mass spamming. Can you just make it so anyone who has been registered over a month (or a year, whatever) does not have a delay? This would still prevent people from registering just to spam with PMs.

Maybe the restriction can just be removed for EB?

I'm hoping that it is just a default setting that has been overlooked.

Changed it to 15 seconds. I hope that's okay. Unfortunately it's a forum-wide thing, not a user/usergroup thing, so we can't make it 0 for EB.

Thanks, BoB.

I probably send more PM's than I post replies to topics, so the 60-99 second delay was annoying me too.

Yeah, I noticed this 99 second thing (And previously 60) and found it irritating.

woohoo. 15 seconds is reasonable enough. although I did post this thread while waiting my 99 seconds...

Drop it to 0 for the elections, then crank it back up if it's being abused.

It is annoying, I will agree. :)

Are there really that many PMs flying around that it could be abused? Just a thought.

I think a 24-hour delay on private messaging would be hilarious, myself.

If anyof the staff does this I will start killing people!

I agree with Bleys.

99 seconds doesn't bother me. Mainly because it takes about that long for a PM to send for me. And I send a PM once every two weeks at the most.

I wouldn't know. I hardly get any PMs and when I do I'm usually more excited about it then I should be. =/
