Every bloody year. I want pancakes, I need pancakes, I love pancakes, and yes I know that realistically I can make them whenever I want but it's just not the same if it isn't pancake day.

The sad thing is, it's Friday and I've only just realised.

Once again, it's passed me by.

All the excitement of Shrove Tuesday made me forget.

we no longer have pancake day in our house along with the outrage that at 21 i'm apparently too old for a christmas stocking just makes me angry.

Yes, there is a pancake day. Unfortunately, nobody cares any more.

The thread title kind of answers the question.

I care, perhaps not enough to remember, but I still care.

I just don't see how I could forget pancake day when I've never heard of pancake day.

Pancake day? Never heard of it.
Sounds like paradise, though.

Shrove Tuesday is it's official name. It marks the beginning of lent. I think. Really it's biblical origins are of no interest to me, it's all about the eating.

I remembered pancake day, but sadly didn't have any pancakes. I guess that's a bigger sin than not remembering it at all :(
Well, battered pastry with jif lemon and sugar does get a TAD repetitive after the first decade.

Its to do with using all the food or something before lent. And as far as I know you americans dont have it.

I've never heard of pancake day, but I do love my pancakes... I need to invest in a big fat box of Bisquik.
