Should I be a White Mage?

I haven't played FFXI for two months or so because I didn't seem to get any help as a warrior. I notice that white mages get lots of help. Should I be a white mage instead of a warrior?

What exactly do you mean by help? White mages do get a lot of party invites but I don't think people randomly help you out because you're a white mage. In fact, whms are usually the ones doing the helping.

I played WAR for like 3 levels and then stopped cause it was boring. :p

I love being a white mage, it suits my personality. If you like helping people out and being the life of the party (literally), go with white mage.

Depends. Are you a Galka? If so, then please don't play whm. Try it as Taru or Elvaan, though. Whm is boring sometimes, but overall a rewarding job to play.

I've seen a GalkaWhitemage before lol.He was lvl 75 also.IT doesnt mater what your race is on this game.Just do whatever you feel.

I've seen Galka whms before, too. They sucked unless they used Astrals, and even then their mnd is painfully low. They actually make better blms, because they can take a beating and aren't int-gimped like us Elvaan.

Yeah Galka BLMs are a lot better lol.The guy who had hte lvl 75 Galka WHM must have went through hell to get it up there.

Anybody who can take a Galka whm to 75 commands respect, no doubt about it. I wouldn't have the patience.

It would be less troublesome to level BST solo that long.

It's a great job, I'd suggest playing it for 20 - 30 levels more. At level 40 I was dual weilding axes with my 40WAR/NIN, I could easily tank or do a fair bit of damage.

I also played WHM to 40 and didn't find it as fun. =\ Still alright though.

I am sure if you ask ANY kind of mage at a high lvl, that MND does not play a major role in a WHM, and MP does. While Galkas are shafted in MP, theres more MP boosting equipment out there to compromise you and at high lvls, you should have more than adequate ammount of MP. Therefore while they commend respect, its nothing that i would say ubarz hard if you work hard enough.

My character's not a Galka. It's a hume. I'm too feminine to be a Galka. ^_^;

Well it depends what you like then, melee or magic.

Whm per say dont get a lot of help, but do get into parties faster than melee. Though being a mage at the beginning is very hard and does cost a lot of gil.

Melee on the other hand you can get help, as in power levels though costly.
