i was wondering that if i used a monster in a battle and one of the monsters perished and turned to a crystal could my monster ally step on the crystal and learn another monster ability?

Nope. Monsters' abilities are set, and they can't learn any new ones.

The best the game offers is the ability 'Monster Skill': it allows a monster to use a hidden monster skill if they stand close to an equipped character.
