A stupider way of spending your time? Doing nothing. Or complaining. I think volunteering to help others or to help animals is a good and noble thing.

I don't see a problem with volunteering for this. Why should you? Do you even have reasons?

I volunteer at Manna Foodbank and the Asheville Homeless Shelter. It's not stupid.

He isnt forcing you to do anything horrible. An opportunity to help animals is a good one, no matter why you do it.

I'd rather do it of my own accord, so I can see how you'd be mad if someone were forcing you to do it. However, you may actually like the experience. :}

It doesn't sound like you are volunteering at all.

I guess being forced to volunteer sucks, but at least you get a chance to do something good for others.
I like volunteering. I just wish I didn't have to do anything ever so I could just voluteer to do things I care about and not worry about my education or money.

If you don't like what you're doing, ask your parents to let you some some other sort of volunteer work. Something that you suggest.

This thread is pretty amusing.
Being forced to volunteer is such irony.

Happened to me, and you know what? Because I didn't choose, I didn't feel responsible or cared about it. Eventually I just stopped going in favour of work and/or girlfriend.
