I just figured it was time for another discussion about the FFI timeloop-thingy. What do you think was Garlands mad scheme whith the whole damn thing, and what the heck happened when the Light Warriors destroyed him?

Well, he did explain it. But it was rather confusing. He said that the fiends send him back in time, that he healed there. He sended the fiends forward in time. Then fiends could send him back in time.
One thing I am sure about. The timeloop was destroyed when the Lightwarriors beated Garland

Which means that none of that ever happened.

So, what was his goal whith that? Would it make him ruuuule the woooorld or something?

I think it was more just that he sent the fiends forward in time, and when they got there they sent him back in time where he absorbed the energy from the crystal altars and became Chaos, who was supposed to be super powerful. I really don't think there was anything more to it than that. It's definitely nowhere near as convuluted as time compression.

It's still pretty convoluted.

I think everyone's addressed the first question. As to what happened to the LWs after they defeated Chaos , here's what I think: If you read the 'epilogue,' it basically says that after the LWs defeat Chaos, they get zapped back to an alternate version of the present where none of the adventure ever happened except in the stories and legends of the Dwarves, Elves, and Dragons (even though there's supposedly no way they could possibly know about it). Kind of like the end of "The Butterfly Effect," where the two main characters pass each other on the street and she doesn't recognize him even though they knew each other in the previous four timelines.

So let me get this straight. The supposed good guys basically destroyed off three races of people entirely, and countless others? Blimey, and you think Chaos is bad?

Nono, he meant that they're remembered by the dwarves, elves etc, not that they were wiped out. Tough there's an awfully small amount of elves in the rest of the FFs...

The Light Warriors defeat Chaos, let's just leave it at that...
