EoFF now has a community Wiki! (http://www.eyesonff.com/members/wiki/)

Think of it as an EoFF encyclopedia for the members, by the members. Right now, pretty much anyone can edit any page, so dive right in and do what you can . This is what the EoFF Minibiography thing was about. :p Please don't make new groups or add to the contents page just yet, though. I'm looking for more member profiles, more detail on various groups and all that kind of thing.

For those who don't know what a Wiki is, here's the definition from urbandictionary.com...


A collaborative Web site comprised of the perpetual collective work of many authors. Similar to a blog in structure and logic, a wiki allows anyone to edit, delete or modify content that has been placed on the Web site using a browser interface, including the work of previous authors. In contrast, a blog, typically authored by an individual, does not allow visitors to change the original posted material, only add comments to the original content. The term wiki refers to either the Web site or the software used to create the site. The first wiki was created by Ward Cunnigham in 1995.

I'd first like to note that while this is a project run outside of Staff - in other words, it's not moderated by them or anything - I still don't want people to outright abuse the place because then I might need to start setting up accounts or something so that people need passwords to edit pages. Don't let it get to that kind of state, though. :p

Now, if you know how to use a Wiki, good. If not, feel free to get used to it using the Sandbox page linked to in the left hand side of the Wiki. Also, there are certain text formatting rules. The ones you should be quickest to note are...

If you're editing something and make a mistake, don't worry - you can revert to older versions of each page using the Page History function.

I'm the only real leader of this project however Samuraid is providing the ever-invaluable technical support. :)

Go to WikiEoFF | Members > Members, then click on "Edit Page" either in the top right corner or the bottom menu. Copy what looks like everyone else has done (i.e., * [[Members/Cid]]) and you'll be fine. Once you've created the new member, you can access their page through the member list there and edit as you did the Member List.

Does that help? I'm really bad at explaining things.

Nah, not at all. :p However you added yourself in three different places, mind picking one and just having redirects from the other ones? :p I suggest you take 'princeofdarknez' and then have redirects (basically just See [[Members/pinceofdarknez]].) in the other places. I'd do it for you but your profiles all seem a little different so I don't know which you want to keep. :p

I added an area where you can put pretty much whatever doesn't fit into the existing areas. I might later integrate the Articles section into there. The new group is basically "Main", in other words it's the default area.

I added a link for you in the members list. Just look for it, click it, and it will take you to your page (which is currently blank). You can type in whatever you want to create your wiki page.

The wiki uses it's own tags instead of HTML. There should be a help link you can view that describes some of the text formatting options.
