They don't.
I don't.
Everyone doesn't.
Only a select group. This select group being people who choose Megaman to make a sprite... I'm assuming your meaning to BASE a sprite. It's easier than starting from scratch. I cannot tell you how much people there are.

And why did you ask EoFF?

Why does everyone use sonic to make a sprite?
And then upload it to deviantart and crap up the pixel art section? >:(

Because "spriters" are annoying, untalented people.

Hey, I wasted a part of my life as one. ;-;
I even had a subcomic on the Bob and George site for a while.

Sprites look sexy. That's why so many people make them. :thumb:

Ya know, the majority of spirtes I've found have used bases from the Pretty Soldier Sailormoon: Another Story RPG. I'd give an example but I'm not le home.

If you're a novice gamemaker and you can't sprite, all you're left to do is steal other peoples sprites and look lik a fool. They really do laugh at you.

to answer your question with an answer--

they're just ripping off bob and george, that's all^_^

Or something. I'm not well versed in the realm of spritecomics.

< Sigurd > a sprite is anything not static
< SRElysian > a sprite is a variable object
< SRElysian > be it 2d or 3d
< TorMuck > a sprite is a smurfing soda
< TorMuck > you god damn geekass bastards

EDIT: Haha, smurfing.

That's not true, Sprite was recently made with strange and unusual fruit juices thus creating a sub-species of Sprite that has continued to disgust the public for the past year and a half.

Sprite Remix isn't that bad.

That's what I was gonna say. I see 1000000000s of sprites made from those sprites.

Sprite Remix isn't that bad.

The original? Yes, the original was alright. But they stopped with the original and replaced it with Berry Remix, quite possibly the worst drink ever created.
