I cant believe it. if you read the little book that comes with the game under the character voices it says the Lance Bass was the voice of SEPHIROTH!!! wtf?? the single most badass video game figure in history is now portrayed by the single most prissy little rich white boy in history. THAT SUCKS!

This topic has been covered many a time and I am kid of getting annoyed my this coming up. Lance bass has a nice voice and why should it matter if he playes the voice of a bad ass person.

I'm not a fan of his or anything, but I think he did a nice job as Sephiroth's voice. Well, with the little voice work that's there.

Then you'd be rather shocked to see the person that does Auron's voice. Just because he might be a prissy white boy doesn't take away that fact that his voice is a bass, and for the few lines that Sephiroth had it fit quite well. I don't know how the voice would go if Sephiroth had actual dialogue, but for the purposes of this game it worked.

I really cant give much an opinion because as has been said, It was only three bloody lines but I thought he sounded too young. Thats not an attack on Lance Bass as he did do the job well.

actually, for like the 1 line of dialougue lance bass had, i think he actually did a good job. maybe, i played it a while ago, so i cant really remember, but i thought i remember expecting something really lame and it sounded pretty good. i didnt like sephiroth in it though because he was WAAAYYY to overhyped as a hard boss. he was like, one of the easiest fights in the game!

So you singled out Lance Bass over all the other celebrity voice actors why? That makes no sense. Every character there had a either a celebrity voice or, in the case of Disney characters, the voice actor who played them in the movie if they were available. How does Lance Bass differ from Mandy Moore or David Boreanz?

No they're long gone. Especially now that Justin Timberlake copped hed make way more munny if he went solo. The last I heard of Lance Bass I think he was performing in some random broadway musical.

Not to mention that I highly doubt he 'bought' his way in. I'd assume Disney approached him with the role. The only way I could see anyone trying to buy their way into being a video game va for KH would be if they were either a) big FF fans or b) big Disney fans.

It's not like... for instance, the Star Wars movies. It's not a project every actor in Hollywood wants in on.

I never heard Sephiroth's voice because I don't really like Kingdom Hearts. If Lance's voice went with Sephiroth's image, then more power to...whoever decides to cast voices.

:D As alot of you guys said, Sephiroth isn't that cool anyway. On a side note (it may be off-topic) I thought Mandy Moore as Aerith was a pretty good match, but they could have found a better voice actor for Sephiroth. Well, recently looking at a four-year-old game magazine, they had hate mail on Lance Bass as Sephy, and the magazine commented that Christopher Walken would have done a good job as the villain. Hope you aren't tired of hearing the ramblings of a newbie :blahblah:.

I think that the guy who did Cloud's voice did a pretty good job, and David Boreanaz (Or however you spell it) also did a good job with Squall/Leon's voice. I just thought that changing Squall's name to Leon was pretty pointless, though.

I think all the voice actors did pretty well, but the VA for Sephiroth is a pretty moot point considering his lack of lines. Really, it didnt matter who did it.

You see him as an older voice, Kain? I kind of see him as having a younger, sinister voice. I have an idea of what, but its just on the tip of my tongue and wont come off.

To note, Squall's name change was just plot-centric... Square didnt change his name for the game, Squall assumed the name Leon because he failed so miserably and didnt want to be called Squall anymore. If you knew that already, sorry. xD

Took the words right out of my mouth. As The Abominatrix said, Squall's new alias did add i bit to the story, but I felt it didn't do anything, if not let the player know he had a history (the non-FF gamers that is). :p So, (is this off-topic?) do you guys think Christopher Walken would have done a good job as Sephiroth?

The voice didn't really bother me at all, I don't see why such a fuss should be kicked up over a voice actor of a minor role. The voice was no better and no worse than I would have expected.

I found the voice acting in the game to be very well done. Sure I dont like Lance but he did a good job. It may have been diffrent if he had more lines, but sence sephy said almost nothing else exceped "Sin harvest angle" and "I will show you the promise land" (or something like that) It wasnt that big of a deal.
