Agree ? Disagree ?

That seriously depends on what the user uses the LJ for. I, personally, use it as a sort of elite mini-message board, only for me and other people I know. I don't use it as a journal, nor do I post anything private or personal in it.

Nah, most people just post test results and crappy surveys. :/

- I am interested in what some (not all) people in LJ post about their daily life, song lyrics, etc.

- No, I would not say some of the things I write on LJ to people that I know of the same level IRL, but that's what online journals are for, neh?

- It's the same thing as posting in a message board.

- It's more of a means of social interaction than a means of recording private thoughts.

- Instead of ranting about LJs, the guy should go out and enjoy the sunshine instead ;]

Yeah, I don't think people use them seriously. I know I don't.

The whole internet is a waste of time. Who cares how each person chooses to waste their time on it?

Oh how clever, making an article criticising something that is popular on the internet. Never seen anything like THAT before :rolleyes2

If there's something I really want to be private, there's *privacy settings*. Imagine that!

Most of my ljing is random notes, fandom obsessings and a way to read everyone elses' random notes and fandom obsessings.

The purpose of a livejournal is more for sharing your life with other people. That's why they made friends option.

I'm writing about this in my LJ!

I think this fellow just needs a good hug.

Take care all.

I use them because it lets me get out my feelings. Though I forget to update them. I think the one I have now goes back to like the beginning of February as its last entry...lol.

I think for those who seriously write in them as a journal, it's not so much for other people to look at as something for them just to write and let themselves loose. It just happens to be an added feature to share it with anyone who would care.

I only skimmed it, and I agree with him on one thing: Song lyrics are not LJ entries.

If livejournals really are such "loser" things, what does that make someone who actually wastes time to write about how much of a loser the livejournal people are?
