Have you ever left your mouth open during the night, then woken up the next morning with horrible painful white lumps on your tongue. I have and they hurt

That actually sounds like glandular fever. Do you feel ok otherwise?

I leave my mouth open often and tongue does feel like sandpaper in the morning. However, I'm quite worried about the 'white lumps' bit. Could be uclers, which are a BIG pain, or could be something more/less serious.

Usually yes, but when I do have the ulcers, my tongue feels kinda numb and I end up cutting them off with my teeth

I chew my tongue and it taste like flavourless chewing gum and cigarette butts.

No, I haven't. My tongue behaves itself.

Sow your mouth shut! Then tell them why you did it.

Ohmygod... @_@ *hides* How about just never sleep with your mouth open and then see a doctor.
