Well, to put it in very nice terms......I was extremely....disappointed by this movie. Where the first one gave me chills every time I looked at a television for weeks after seeing it, this sequel just...flopped. I barely shuddered even once for the entire two hours I sat there and watched it. Samara just wasn't scary at all in it. In fact, she was pretty lame. LAME! What have they done to the little demon child that haunts my nightmares?!?!?! ARGH!!!!! AND THE ENDING WAS SO STUPID!!!!

Now that that's out of my system, feel free to comment, agree, defend the movie, or click the back button. :)

edit: And you know, they really could have thought of a better title than "Ring Two". Even something cheesy like "Ring: The Possession" or "Return of the Evil Ghost Girl!" would have been better than...."Ring Two". Okay, not "Return of the Evil Ghost Girl", but--well, you get the point. It sucks. :irked:

Anyone who liked the first one should see the sequel. After all, that's just my opinion on the movie, which I'm not trying to force on anyone. I just felt like ranting. At the same time, I know that if I hadn't seen it, it would have bothered me until I did. Because I suck that way. But anyways, I do know a few people who enjoyed it. I guess its a matter of personal taste...all I know is the audience started giggling at the parts that were meant to be scary. That shouldn't happen in a sequel to The Ring. People should be screaming bloody murder.

And yet, they weren't.

It was disappointing. Very, very, verrrry disappointing.

Movies coming out in a weeks time in the UK and im dying to see it.
Seen the Japanese version and didnt have a clue what was going on so im hoping this one will explain the movie well. Like the bit when that gal starts shaking her head on the tape. Didnt get that but scared me loads.
Be good if they remake Ring 0 as well.

I thought The Ring was a totally unfaithful and horrible remake of Ringu which is one of my favorite horror movies. The Grudge, I thought, showed how well a Japanese horror film could actually be remade which made me think of The Ring even worse. I don't really have any desire to see The Ring 2 beside the fact that Ringu 2 was horrible and everyone knows it. I'm curious to see what they've done to 'attempt' improvement, if they even have.

It was okay. Only see it if you want to know more info about The Ring mythology. Well, at least the American style.

It was pretty weak compared to the first one. Not very scary, except the part where Samara chased Rachel up the well. That was pretty good.

After seeing the movie less than 10 minutes ago at my local cinema
I came to the conclusion that I had just wasted £3.50. To be honest I think it was a big disapointment from the Jap version. The ending was a bit more s**t than the jap version and the story line was a lot different (i.e: s**t) to the jap version , but if the movie has taught us anything its that DAMM!!! that girl knows her yoga

Not very scary, except the part where Spoiler: Samara chased Rachel up the well. That was pretty good. Yeah I agree that was the only part that even remotely freaked me out. I haven't seen the Japanese versions of the movies but I've heard they're really good but I don't know where I can get ahold of them.

I was rather looking forward to it myself, though personally after reading the Japanese novel (translated, of course) and also reading a manga based on the original novel (also translated. It's by Misao Inagaki if anyone is interested) I think I prefer the Japanese version, and am quite interested in watching that, as I enjoyed the book more than the American film.

I'll probably still go to see Ring 2, if only because I've been looking forward to it.

I laughed at it myself (especially because of remarks the guy sitting in front of me kept making) It was somewhat entertaining to say the least, but it reminds me too much of The Grudge remake. I've not seen the Japanese versions though, but I'd like to.

I just love that one line of Rachel's near the end.
I'm not your f****** mommy! :p

the jap version was more scarier

The most dissapointing thing about this movie was that there wasnt that much backdrop on samara/sadako and how the tape was made and her connection with the kid it just focused on the lives of rachel and her kid...

It remind me of "dark water" another jap scary movie...it was crap too but if you see it you'll understand the similarities...
