Question about Tifa!! [Archive] - Eyes on Final Fantasy Forums

Hello... err... um... i'm kinda of new here, and i just want to ask you folks a question that has been overwhelming my mind recently...

Well, I'm kind of confused about the game right now (well, not entirely), but I just wanna know if has someone end up as a couple in the game? Like TifaxCloud or AerithxCloud or something like that.

I know that Tifa has some feelings for Cloud, and I really wanna know if Cloud has the same, or if Cloud loves Aerith for the matter.

(please don't be angry at me... :) )

Why does Cloud have to be involved? Why not, say, YuffiexTifa? :D Hey, the game let's you pair Cloud and Barret on the Gold Saucer Date if you do things right :p

Yeah, it's a love triangle. Both Aeris and Tifa like Cloud. It's up to you who Cloud likes more. You can't always be sure who Cloud likes, but you will find out close to the end of Disc 1. You can also hook Cloud up with Yuffie:kiss: and Marlene.

Oh, by the way, sorry to disappoint everyone who has ever worried about the mechanics to the Gold Saucer "date", but the only actual date is with Aeris (as per their agreement way back in Midgar). If you manipulate things so that Tifa, Yuffie, or Barett comes to the room, each one simply wants to hang out with Cloud because he/she is bored.

Yeah, I was a little off one that Marlene statement. Go date Barret, and you'll see what I mean.

I'm too lazy to post links here, but you can find save editors and saves right before each of their dates. It's fun, especially if you've owned the game for 8 years and haven't seen the other dates.

I don't want to tell her about the dates here, b/c that would be a big fat spoiler.

That's the excuse they use to get Cloud to go with them. Tifa isnt forward enough to ask Cloud on a date, while Aerith most certainly is.

Anyway, it's really up to interpretation. It's possible they'll give us a concrete answer in Advent Children, but I highly highly doubt it.

So... as for who Cloud loves, he loves whoever you want him to.

I once made Cloud hook up with the ticket-checker at the Gold Saucer. Damn that was hot.

I also got something going between Cloud, Marlene and Biggs. VERY entertaining.

What?! I thought Ribbons did stop every status effect except Cursed. Maybe you forgot to equip it. Maybe you saved, equipped it, fought the Snow Woman, lost, reloaded, fought Snow Woman again, she used Fascination, and it worked?

Um... It's a spell. It works on everyone. Because it's a spell. Enemy spells like Fasincation have long been used in FF games (though under different names sometimes) and always work on all party members regardless of sex.

Well, Steal Heart in FFT was very effective against the opposite sex, completely ineffective against the same sex, and moderately effective against monsters, which didn't have defined genders. In general, though, the statement is correct.

As to the Ribbon, it is always completely effective against Confusion. Ribbons don't stop Death (status), though (although that has absolutely nothing to do with the fight against Snow).

Fair enough. :) Seriously, though, I really recommend playing FFT the first chance you get. It's an amazing game (something you've probably heard from many other people and are tired of hearing, so sorry for mentioning it).

I tried a few times. For me it moves to slowly and I dont have the patience anymore. I didnt like tactics games when it first came out (the battle style and all), and now I love them, but Tactics still moves waaaaaaaaaay too slow for me.

Yeah, but that's what FFTactics is all about, patience. If you get some good practice in, you'll find yourself progressing through the story quickly. (If you're good at strategy games, such as myself.) You know it really rots when you have to level up a lot at certain points during the game to progress, but patience is key. Plus, you'll find yourself, in some interesting 'random' battles. Arguably Tactics has the best story of all Final Fantasy games, you just have to be patient to get there. tip: to learn more about Tactics, just go to the Tactics extension of this website. You'll love it.

Yes, I am impatient when I have to fight very often and the battle system is so terribly slow. I'd feel the same about Tactics Advance but I played the room and could use the speed up button. Its slow-ness is completly unncessary, when similar games like Fire Emblem and Vandal Hearts move much quicker.

I've done everything I can to make Aerith and Tifa furious with me. Why does Tifa still insist on coming out with me? I just want to see all that there is to see in FF7. Doesn't she understand that?

Because Yuffie and Barret start out with low affection points for Cloud, you have to work on them more than you do with Aerith and Tifa. You have to be nice to Yuffie at every opportunity, and there arent many.

I recommend you consult a Date Mechanics guide if you really want to see the other characters. I will point out, however, that rigging the in-game scoring system for or against Tifa is extremely easy. If you want the "date" to be with her, simply answer "Leave it to me" --repeatedly--when she asks about escaping after being captured in Shinra HQ. If you want to eliminate Tifa as a possibility, answer "Kinda tough" many times.

Playing FFT and LIKING FFT are completely different worlds. I'm with 'natrix on this one. The game is way too slow and confined. And the progression is completely retarded. I could understand all the battles if there were just... that many. But there aren't. You HAVE to fight the same battles like 20 times in order to survive the next. It's completely rediculous. The makers were damned well retarded for doing that. If I play a tactical game, there shouldn't be any backtracking. I mean it's not random, so there's not going to be much question as to your general strength and status at a given time in the game. They should have made the experience table around that. DUH. God I hate that game...

...edit: S'pose I should talk about the date thing... I have a question. How the fudge are you supposed to get Cloud to date an NPC like the ticket clerk or Biggs (Isn't he dead? O_o) I thought if you just ignored all the girls he either picks one at random or goes with Berret, end of story. Now you're trying to say there's OTHER options too? I call bluff.
